May 2, 200224 yr could some one tell me is there a special tool to get the joints out of the hub assembly what the hicas arms go onto,i had a go the other day and they seem to be in solid any help would be appreciated
May 2, 200224 yr Alan, the little buggers are in well tight. I made several attempts at removing my near side bush and eventually drilled out the front face so the ball joint part was able to be removed, I then drilled straight through and made up a removal tool by using a high tensile bolt with big washers and a large reducing coupler (bit of a steel pipe fitting)and then warmed the wishbone with a blow lamp and wound the bush out!!phew! Oh yes then you have to refit the new one !! not so easy as they are bloody tight to get in but hammered it in with a 32mm socket over the face and used the blow lamp again to warm the wishbone.Comically the Nissan workshop manual describes the procedure as "undo the retaining nut and extract the bush" WTF!! My guess is the correct way is to remove the whole assembly, hub etc,etc so a press can be used, glad I only needed to do one! Good luck Jeff TT
May 3, 200224 yr cheers for that jeff im off monday, tuesday shall give it a go then, while the hubs off might as well change the wheel bearings, pass side rear making a noise kill two birds with one stone
