I know il probably wish that i had got another zed to replace my written off one, but im thinking of getting a toyota celica gt4 wrc. Ive always liked the car and fancy a rally type car (thats not a scooby!)

Im wondering if it is worth importing one from japan as there were only ever 2500 WRC models made and the uk ones ive found for the most part are not upto much.

Anyone able to advise i would be grateful (and im trying to buy back my zed from the salvage people to repair/break)

Dont feel you hve to get a wrc model.. theres nor real benefits.. only bragghing rights. Mines a wrc but i didnt go looking for one it just happened to be the one i wanted. The wrc had a spray bar for the chargecooler rad and intil lag, a bonnet spoinler and raiser blocks for the rear wing but thats about it. The anti lag and spray bar arent plumbed in so bit of a wast of time tbh. Just find a decent one, maybe a 96+ with nice recaros in it. oh year wrc's got abs while it was an option on early 4's, but i think after about 96 it was standard anyway.

Damn fine car though!! ;)

Ive been doing a bit of reasearch and it did kind of reflect most of what you said scoops. Not sure i have the cash to go for a hugly recent motor (looking to spend around 4-5K) and fancy the WRC for the intercooler spray bars and the water injection (although i know both are disabled im sure they can be reconnected with minimal work).

Not had much luck with the owners club as i cannot get a user name registered and only seem to find non wrc st205 models. Il keep looking but hints n tips welcome. (also i dont seem able to get onto the import-ance website, just me?)

for some reason the forume is telling me i cant pm? weird that i can get in to all the subscribers forums but not pm? Any chance someone could pm leigh from importance for me and just give him my email address or point him to this thread? Thanks guys n gals (my emails geeky_hawkes@hotmail.com)

I think the import-ance website is under construction or something.

From what I can see on gt4oc, most wrc's are about 6-7k.

Have you thought about a slightly older st185 Carlos Sainz or something similar?

Have thought about it, but also looking around autotrader (accepting that cars sold on owners clubs tend to be a bit pricer in my experiance) they go for around the 4500 - 5000 mark. Guess it depends on condition but then there is always risk buying a 10year plus car!
