So i've bought this for my bro for 120 quid and it's very cool.

I've blurred out the logo but it's so obscure unless you know what one is you'll never guess what it is :D

ANYONE WHO DOES KNOW WHAT IT IS LET THEM GUESS FOR A BIT FIRST ;)

It doesn't make any noises, vibrate in a way you can feel and runs off a single 9v battery.

So this is it the right way up. It's got a 3 way switch on the front:

Underneath it has a central groove with two rails either side:

When you switch onto one of the two modes it has a cool blue led that lights up:

SO WHAT IS IT? :D

lol, AND THE ANSWER IS (and listen to it all):

It's an eBow. It works by resonating the strings of a guitar to give you an infinite note BUT can be used to create all manner of weird and wonderful sounds like a violin, trombone, harmonica etc all through a standard guitar with no effects box.

If you think about the solo in Heroes by David Bowie, that's an eBow.

Such a weird sound, have a listen below:

http://www.ebow.com/ebow/audio/demox2.wav :D :duffer:

First saw Noel Galagher using one on Gas Panic at wembley arena and wondered what the hell it was.

It's been used by pink floyd and all of the classic bands

*****x i only just saw this thread.. too late as usual, yep an ebow, we had one of the pre production versions in the studio, steve lipton was suing one also. this version has been updated a little upon the older versions, there are diy kits available to make your own online also.

nice bit of kit takes a little while to get used to, there are also other variations on this but its based on harmonic resonance principles.

Yep great little gizmo. I told the guy in the shop exactly what kit my bro has:

Gibson Les Paul Studio

AV50 Marshall Valvestate Amp

Boss GT3 pedal set

and asked what do you buy a guy who has pretty much everything for around the 100 quid mark?

Would have never thought of it but remember a convo i had with my bro about it a while ago but i know he'll love it :D

doesnt look like anything i'd need either

Well he did say it dosen't vibrate.

Blast I've only just seen this as well, and I knew what it was :(

Well he did say it dosen't vibrate.

wont be buying one then

:) :) :)

Silly mood again

I think its something to do with the up comming festive date that has nothing to do with religion but happens to be at the end of the year and in the middle of winter that the whole world apart from some narrow minded folk celibrate.

Few all that with out a breath.
