You know what, i have this 5 grand inheritance burning a hole in my pocket at the moment and i was looking through ebay for a cheap car, diesal with low miles for about the 2k mark. Found a few with about 60/70k on the clock around 2002ish.

Then i made the mistake of browsing the lotus stable and i'm falling in love with the esprit again. Always loved them from when i was a kid and i'm starting think about getting one now dammit. I'll probably change my mind in a week or two and get my sensible head on again but that's gorgeous and will be stunning when he's finished it :D

it is finished has been for a while, troy who owns the car is a bit of a legend in the esprit community now, hes helped several members out now. hes also a bit of a tech help for me!

I think the starter motor on the zed is bigger than the engine in a lotus.......lol

Only joking SI..........

lol, 160bhp for the none turbo isn't it? a 2.2 4 cylinder?

Can't remember the stats for the turbo

i have got a turbo edition, as for pull its very fast, very light you have to concentrate all the time, if you dont it will bite your ar5e.

as for conering nohting corners like an esprit, the sheer width of the car and those big fat bbs rims with the nct 60's on, i can take corners better in the lotus than i did in my zed and no fear of the rear flicking round so easily.

but for sheer power the zed wins hands down, but i have been there and done that, now its time to slow down a bit and enjoy the moment!!

eacyboy popped over the other day to have a gander, i spent 3 hours after cleaning all the drool up off the floor!

i dread to think how much that cost him to restore but what a job hes jone

Must admit I,ve seen this car in the flesh and it is awsome. Can't wait to see it finished and on the road.

P.s Ive got that cover here for you..

My ex nieghbour has a Lotus Europa 25th aniversery model in lime green just sat in his garage doing bugger all , all original as well , such a shame :headvswal

people who let things of beauty sit in there garage annoy me.. I know of someone not far from me who has a mint condition 1968 Dodge Charger with the 440 Hemi engine. just sitting in a barn and he is never gonna sell it.. i have offered him loads for it but to no avail.... grrrr

sorry pk... thats a lovely job bit concerned about the wooden firewall tho.. isnt that like a contradiction in terms?

no its got a special heat resistant coating on the otherside, also the engine bay has a set of panels which encase the engine bay and they are coated in a heat resistant aluminium coating so its actually double heat resistant.

Chrysler never made a 440 ci Hemi! They made a 440ci six pack 390bhp or the 440 magnum or R/T 375bhp and the awsome 426ci Hemi that was proned to cracking between the valves and spark plugs. the street version made 425bhp 0-60 in 5.3 sec and 1/4 mile in mid 13's.

If he got a Hemi he got a very rare car the engine would be 5k+ alone, i would say he got a 440 six pack or R/T as these where the most produced of the big block 440's or possibly a 383ci magnum :)

You should "liberate" it ;)
