I've been yerning for one of these for years and years now. Mid 80s one too. I know a lot on here write off the idea of having a Yank car, but I love them. Was originally (and still would have had one if I could have found a good one) going to get Z28 Gen 4 Camaro instead of the Z. Really fond of my Yank-mobiles. I don't care that they don't handle very well as I never race my cars.

Wanting a Chevrolet El Camino pickup now. Would drop in an LT1 EFi unit from an old Corvette and bolt on a nice big whipple supercharger, paint it yellow and fit some retro chrome rims.

Bit like this thing. Not everyone's cup of tea, but something I really really want.

Still might do it one day funds permitting. Wanting an old school resto-job to do. :)

Kinda.....although undecided. Don't dislike it....but just not made my mind up. Think I'd go for the late spec C4 rims...

Sexiest rims for the C4 bar none IMHO. Unsure of the kit, but looks a nice example.

Can't find any El Camino for sale in the uk as such i think you'd be looking for an import from the us

A few come over. There's a few on ebay I think, although I think they are 70s versions.

Best off importing from California or Texas. Find any old one, ship it back. Most came with A/C, some with electric windows.

Costs about 800 quid in shipping along with a small fee in VAT but you'd still get it cheaper buying from there and it would be in nice nick from Texas/California

Exactly. Dry states are always the best for tin work. Unfortunately, they suffer from paint bleaching/burning. But that's not a problem if you just want a good base to start from.

Yeah I've seen all those. I live in US ebay. hehe

Not so keen on the SS (Choo choo) version as I don't like the revised front end as much as the old-skool style lesser models. Pretty cool bit of kit never the less.

Red one is sweet. Needs some larger wheels (radius I mean)...like the yellow one and the chrome strip around the rear window needs painting black. Other than that, ubber cool.

Oh my goodness Simon, that car is ugly! I mean what is that thing a car, or a truck?? My dads friend has one, and I absolutely hate it!

We don't have them over here. All we were lumbered with were (car based trucks) these ugly things... (no one post up the 500bhp Cosworth powered one in this months FF!!!)

Anyway.....the Ford P100. It was based on the Ford Cortina (MK4) and was shit.

There was also a newer version based on the Ford Sierra. Another miserable wagon. This was also RWD and named P100. Came with either a feeble 1.6 litre or 1.8litre diesel.
