nar you have to export them to a text csv file then import them from the file you created (use export in the file menu). You cant just copy them like you can with the email folder dbx files

I believe OE has a .pab file (.pab = Personal Address Book) which contains all of your contact details.

This file can be copied from one machine to another to copy your contacts. Unfortunately though the file in not directly readable (from what I remember), so, like edk83 said, you'll need to export them to a .CSV or .TXT etc to read them.

Si.

Outlook Express is a no-cost, basic e-mail program that is included with Microsoft Internet Explorer. Outlook Express stores contacts in a Microsoft Windows® Address Book file with an extension of .wab.

The name of the file is based on your Windows logon name. For example, Lori Kane may have a Windows logon name of lorik, and her Windows Address Book file would be lorik.wab. This file is saved at C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

there you go!

i thought wab files were just in outlook, but no pab is outlook and wab outlook express

Can't you export them from within Outlook Express, or failing that use the System Migration Tool ?

Go in to Outlook Express - go File, Export, Address Book.

Click on save to Text file (Comma Seperated Values).

Save it to a remembered location & thats it.

You can then import it into your new mail program.
