Have just been speaking to Shunter on msn and we think it is a really good idea to try and arrange a joint meet with the South Central lot.

Ideally it will be somewhere nice and central for everyone and hopefully some of our Cornwall lot will be able to make it as well.

Let me know what you think and if you like the idea, when you think would be the best time to have the meet.

:D :hyper:

I think the only way a joint meet with South Central, and getting the Cornwall bods up, would be to meet somewhere around Exeter.

im deffo up for that top idea!!

What month do you all think is best for this meet?

Exeter may be 'central' for a South West meet but hardly 'central for everyone'.

Somewhere closer to South Central needs to be chosen if you expect them to join the meet.

hmm its about 108 miles away from sothampton

Exeter is about equal distance from the furthest borders of both areas.

110 miles from Gloucester

90 miles from Truro

110 miles from Southampton

90 miles from Sailsbury

Its a long way for most people, but it is central ?

Bit further for those of us who are on the eastern edge of South Central, but I'm up for it depending on when you're thinking of.........especially if I've got to get up at some un-godly hour on a week-end(thats anything before 10am!!!) to get there. Would be really cool to see the "pinky" in the flesh....so to speak!!! OK Anna, I'll slap myself for that one :slap:

Cheers, Steve

Personally think having a joint meet at this time of the year is not the best of things, days are short, weather generally somewhat inclement. Doubt you'll get the same interest as if you were to have it mid-summer.

Not just that, but Southampton to Exeter is a misserable drive, possible 3 and half hours. It takes 2 hours to get to Weymouth from Southampton as the trunk roads along the south coast West of Ringwood area are pretty slow going. I know as I've just driven there from Southampton.

Thats why I am asking when people would prefer to have the meet.

I agree that we will get more interest when the weather cheers up a bit so any suggestions for a good month to have the meet?

Will probably get a better response from people as well if they have a bit of notice.

By the way, please dont anybody suggest July as I am getting married and going on honeymoon then so wouldnt be able to come along

Quick! Let's organise a meet for July!!
