Best Bond?

I used to think Dalton wasn't up to much but I watched Livng Daylights and Licence to Kill the other day and I have to say my childhood memories were very blurred indeed. His films are more realistic and gritty than the others which is why he's sometimes overlooked as a good Bond.

It also amazes me that after they got rid of Connery they got Moore who is OLDER than him. Granted he did look youthfull for the first few films, but when he did View to a Kill he was 58! And his face was nearly falling off.

Yeah when I was watching it I kept thinking 'he's like a baddy!' Damn Shame he only did 2 films cus he would have been great in Goldeneye.

Pierce brosnan for me............the man oozed class and his films seemed alot better i think but then again most of you are old farts so you would prefer dalton......

I like all of them in their own way, sean connery has the charm, Roger Moore had the comedy element, Dalton was dark and mysterious as bond as you say much grittier.

Brosnan is/was good as bond. Good combination of them all, he was the cheekiest of the lot. Probably my favourite :D

To be honest all have their merits. Apart from Lazenby (who I won't discount butI havent seen his film for yonks) they are all brilliant in their own way. I think Brosnon was kind of like a mixture of all of them.

Anyone know why he's not doing this one though?

ah right. Fair enough. A bit silly though since he's only really big for playing a recurring role. And a recurring role where they can freely change the actors at that.

Although I have no idea why they couldn't freely change M back to being Old M and not Judi Dench though. She is good though.

I dunno why, but I like Roger Moore and for some reason, my favourite Bond film is 'The Spy who loved me'.

Brosnan is a close second. Connery follows very close behind.

Connery is my favourite so far, but I am looking forward to the new bond, I enjoyed the film layer cake and hope he can carry off the role well.

excellent question. should have been a poll (now theres an idea).... ;)

Sean Connery - THE Bond. Suave, doesnt take any sht. Brilliant.

Roger Moore - Even more suave but wasnt all that menacing. Must be that damn eyebrow.

Timothy Dalton - Eyebrows too thick but tough. Lacked sophistication of the other two.

George Lazenby - his best line was "This never happened to the other fella." That's because they were good Bonds you muppet.

Pierce Brosnan - Loved himself a bit too much but still a good Bond.

We shall have to wait and see what the new lad has to offer :hyper:

I wanted to do a poll but whenever I post I search the entire screen for he poll button and it seems to gain some sort of predator camo.

Love all the Bond films and all the Bond actors

Sean Connery- is bond he was how you would expect to be and well acted i can watch his bond films over and over

Roger Moore- he did some good bonds and some awful ones but he wasnt tough enough for me, he seemed more of a charmer for the ladies than a spy

Timothy Dalton- very underated films they were great bond films very dark and seemed a tough bond i think the damage the last moore films did, didnt help

George Lazenby- :slap: if only connery made this film

Pierce Brosnan - brought bond back with a bang and made it huge again and should be applauded (spelling) for what he did for a dieing franchise. he was a good bond but writers screwed them up by making them too far fetched and too crash bang whollop

Dipone, if you like Brosnan in Bond, then you may like the film 'The Forth Protocol'. Quite an early film for him. Starred alongside a somewhat younger Michael Cane (another legend).

Connery was in the best Bond films but Moore was the best Bond IMHO.

The others are a bit homogenous and the films have lots their charm since the end of the 70s.

But of course! I think I was just looking on the wrong page.

Moore was good but carried it on FAR too long. I just think its weird that Connery did bond, started off looking young and by the time we got to Diamonds are forever he was looking a bit old and a bit chubby. And when they replace him they pick someone who is older still and yet when you watch films like Live and Let Die you can't help but notice how young Moore looks even though he's about 47 or something. I suppose its all relative though.

Apparently Brosnan didn't want to do a fifth as he knows what people thought of Moore doing bond into his 50's.

Brosnan hated the way his films were going, he wanted to go back to the days of connery and not all bangs and FX they sacked him and from what i have heard they have gone back to the connery style bonds for the new one and its getting rave reviews

good point. if i wanted explosions and SFX all the way through the film id just pick up a mindless yank action movie. Bond being stealthy and sneaking about (and then seducing fit birds) is what its all about.
