My wifes cousin was shot Dead in Basra Yesterday morning.

Lovely Guy. Only 19 and his first tour of duty.

Only 5 weeks ago me and my eldest lad were having a pint with him and his big brother who's a corpral in the same regiment. They've just bought a house in Lancaster and we were arranging to go out on the raz with them one night when Jamie got back.

My wife is really upset. I feel for his family, but he new the risks and believed he was making a posertive contribution. So young and so proud.

Then I heard today of the new insentive for prolific criminals. Their going to pay them £10k a year on top of there social securety not to reoffend as that will cost £20k a year less. WTF

This nation does not deserve the selfless sacrifices of our soldiers.

Aweful news :( RIP

sorry to hear that....

RIP

xx

I just read about it on the BBC news website as well. Really sorry to hear that. Heartfelt condolences.

Really sorry to hear this. What a waste of a young life, at least he was doing what he wanted to do and believed that he could make a difference in some way. Nearly every other day we hear of another loss of life (those that get reported anyway). We should be proud of all our serving soldiers, they do a shit job in difficult circumstances and put their lives on the line nearly every day.

I for one will have a drink for him tonight.

RIP

omg thats terrible news, my condolences and blessings to your family. Such a tragic waste of a young life doing his patriotic duty for a country that has turned its back on its own ppl and is bent on fighting everyone elses war, and to make this country a safer place for the scum that walk the streets in our day and age, like the coont that stole an ex service mans poppy collection money the other day for drugs money, no doubt. Makes me fooking sick when i think the scum have no respect for these men who fought and died in war for the likes of them coonts, braver men than the scum will ever be. Then i read they gonna get an extra 10k a year not to reaffend fook me thats done it 10k extra for drugs, Im lucky my kids are good kids but what insentive is there for 'em to be good when these affenders get free holidays to re-abilitate them, now a extra 10k, thats really gonna incourage em to work for a living, fooking country gone mad.

Sorry gone into 1, rant over

Very, very sorry to hear of your loss Mark. Whether people are pro or anti war it does not mean we shouldn't support and be proud of our soldiers serving over there. They are only doing their job and unfortunately some are paying the greatest price of all in the line of duty.

too true that man

If I should die, think only this of me:

That there's some corner of a foreign field

That is forever England. There shall be

In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;

A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,

Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam;

A body of England's, breathing English air,

Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.

And think, this heart, all evil shed away,

A pulse in the eternal mind, no less

Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;

Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;

And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,

In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

The Soldier

Rupert Brooke

Sory mate.

Such a shame to hear about another casualty of war. It makes me sick how the government treats us out there. Sounds sick but I'd rather die than get seriously injured.

I guy I know in the RA was blown up by in IED a few months ago. He is now blind and deaf. Been medically discharged and is receiving NO SUPPORT from the MOD. Sweet bugger all. He's got his war pension and thats it. And now I read that they're giving the fcukwit junkies 10grand a year :shock: Think I should leave and get done for a crime and get some free dosh.

...Crashes soapbox...

Another needless loss of life and for what ?

My condolances to all concerned .

My condolences to his family and all who knew him. I know its said its their job, but these guys are hero's and in no way do they get the full respect they are due from either the goverment or Country.
