how do i go about getting my mac number from aol, as im fed up with there crap connection and shite customer care etc, i just dont want to be without broadband whilst i transfer over, so any advice would be cool

 

im going over to pipex is this any good, as i have phone with them, and can get a decent deal through them

phone up and (try to) cancel - they're obliged to give you the number - assuming you have had the contract long enough & give them enough notice as per their terms & conditions. You'll probably end up screaming with them - all i've heard about AOL is bad!!

 

Oh, and you might have fun getting rid of all the AOL crap on your computer!!

best to just foramt all the harddrives and start again. you can get the mac address from the router. type in 192.168.1.1 or what ever your router is and you should get a screen like this depending on what router it is

yeah sorry wrong mac, ring up aol and cancel your contract, they will give you the MAC number and give this to your new ISP

Greg, I've had similar problems, emailed about disconnecting and they have never responded, I want to change to Orange as it will cost me a third of the price!
