Photoshop CS2 question

For the photoshop guru's out there. I want to make some text (which will be quite large) appear metallic, or at the very least gradiated to fade from greys to white. Trouble is I'm not entirely sure how to do this! Any help or pointers would be much appreciated :)

    Lol! What can I say, it was late and I couldn't be doing with wading through it all! Cheers for the offers both (er...I think...;)), I'm going to have a better look at it today so might get back in touch yet! :D
