I had the misfortune to be stuck driving for two days listening to Radio 5 live 909 for 48 hours listening to this 'veil' debate for 48 hours and the only bit of sense I heard was some Muslim 'veiled woman' who said basically that she wore the veil as she wanted to dress 'modestly' as per her interpretation of the Quoran. Personally I think it's uckin stupid but since when did doing somethig uckin stupid

At the start of this thread, I stated that it was my muslim friend who sent me the pics and images in the 1st place.

 

I consider myself very lax as to religious faith. I am not an aithiast (spelling)

but dont follow or practise any religion of any kind.

Personally I cant understand how you can follow one type of religion and proudly tell the virtues of being a proud Roman Catholic, but at the same time go on the pill ???

 

Or a Christian, but say Freddie Mercury got the wrath of God ??

 

Or be a muslim, and change the Holy Words to suit your Cause.

tbh i dont care what a person wears, be it veiled, unveiled, or what as long as they are law abiding and friendly good people, id rather live next to a veiled muslim who has respect and values than a smacked up dole waller, who goes on the rob every night for gods sake its a piece of cloth what does it really matter surely its the person in the clothing that counts not the clothing. I know what your saying about when in Rome (Britain),.But if you have rules that protect peoples rights to practise their religion then it's got to be evenly applied,it's no good saying that well they've got to by our religious rules, I live in Central Scotland mind. Personally I think we should tax all beleviers in a faith 50%,convert all religious buildings into hospitals and have the right to point and laugh at all persons wearing symbols or known to be a follower of faith chanting (your religions got as much credibility as fairies at the bottom of my garden), tune to be decided.
