Just been made redundant.......

 

Bad news is i leave this Friday......good news is i will be paid x5 months wages......

 

Thinking of changing direction as been working in Soho for various post production facilities and ended up as production manager for a film trailer company....

 

Now considering cabinet making i know it's different but i'm 40 soon and bored of working for other people, rather do somethingmore satisfying and for myself.....

i was in same position a month ago but with no redundancy pay at all.

now got a job and have been offered 2 more positions.

It happened to me about a year ago. The redundancy's tax free :)

 

I started working for myself. I now work less hours, make more money and pay less tax. It was the best thing that ever happened to me.

 

If you fancy the cabinet making and it'll work go for it! Faint heart n'er won fair maid and all that.

Shit news that bud! Know exactly how you feel, happened to me just over a month ago for the second time in a year :(

 

Decided its time to work for myself now due to the fact I don't really trust anyone anymore. Might be the best thing I ever did, might not but I'll kick myself later in life if I don't give it a try. Welcome to ZXtreme :D lol

I guess i'm lucky, I have been working on a temp contract for 18 months and nearly didn't get perm one but it landed this morning. I know it sounds ungreatful but with all the stress they have caused me this last 4 months I almost wish they had sacked me.
