Exactly right, been around for quite a while and things in the game can change hands for money IRL, according to wikipedia the game world has a real world GDP of about $64million.

I have some amusing stories about a couple of mates of mine who joined for a laugh and went around making money as strippers and pimping themselves out.....

To make enough money to live on, you'd literally have to live in the game world full time. Some people have made loads though, apparently some guy sold some kind of virtual big building once for $250000 in total, and some in game objects and houses can net you quite a bit if you sell enough.

 

Downside is, its looks like complete arse
