I’ve been talking to UK based suspension manufacturer NITRON about manufacturing a kit for the ZX.

They’re basically there with it now and prices are as below:

NTR Sport £1195 (1-way)

NTR Track £2095 (2-way)

NTR Race £2395 (3-way) ... all plus VAT

Quite a jump up to the Track set as that and the Race set use the piggybacked reservoir canister assemblies. All these kits include new machined top mounts with spherical bearings. We don't use any rubber bushes, only spherical bearings.

Spring rates are to your spec but the standard setup will be ~8kg/mm fr and 6kg/mm rear (linear).

These are not to be confused with some of the cheaper poorer / low spec quality stuff like tein etc, these are genuine race spec monotube dampers, all ali CNC’d construction.

Couple of example pics of what a front and rear will look like (honda S2000 / Ferrari 355):

PMSL, How so true! :D

How would the 2 way track setup perform on the roads??

Would they consider cheeper prices for a group buy order?

Have you not got some sitting in the corner of your garage you don't want

Interested in the Sport Kit for sure, the track one is tempting though I don't think I'd ever really feel the difference.

Some quick questions

-what Piston size are they?

-does the price include the eibach springs or the Nitron ones?

-when do you want to place the order?

Thanks for getting these sorted :)

Mark, 2 way setup just gives you independant control of bump and rebound (3 way has hi and lo speed bump).

Spring rates & valving rates would be the same unless specified, so in broad terms it would perform the same but be more adjustable.

GB: Possibly, I can ask if there's interest.

James,

I'll find out, being mono tube it'll be outer diameter - wall thickness, pretty big!

Think eibach is £95 more, will check.

Unless we get a GB, can just order individually whenever suits.

Cheers

So you saying, 3 way Better for road and track????

No, he's saying it's so complicated to set up that you'd never get it right and see the benefit ! LOL

I suppose in theory the road has greater variation than the track so the more adjustment the better, but you'd certainly need an expert to get it close to right.

Basically, yes, 3 way is better. Particularly on the road IMO as you can use the low speed bump / rebound to adjust body control then the high speed to setup how it rides over the bumps.

It ain't that hard to set up - as long as you have a good feel for your car then you'll be able to adjust it. You'll get it 90% of the way there very quickly then just fine tune it to suit your taste.

Ok how soon are you talking ???? and how much cheeper could we get them.

Nitron do motorbike suspension too.

Excellent quality and very good value considering what you get.

A bag of sand's still a bit salty for someone as tight as me though!

So JOHN Did You Say You Needed A Donor Car To Test Them ;)

Mark, I'll let you know!

Tizer, I have one - just as soon as I can get it running!!!!

Out of intereset, which one are you going for John ? :)

  • Author

3-Way I think :D To me, handling is the most important aspect of any car so I want to be able to get it right.

James,

40mm

Nitron, eibach are +£95

Soon!!

Cheers

John

Great, well I've decided to go for the sport kit with Eibach springs

Maybe change to the race ones later if I get to have a ride in yours and feel the difference :)

Edit - might change my mind depending if there's a GB and discount

  • Author

GB look unlikely to be honest, will never get the numbers for any sort of discount off them.

I should think you can upgrade later to the race ones, the housings etc should be the same, just a piggybacked cannister to add.
