The BBC web page has been updated since I first posted, looks v. serious.

Poor Richard... Always makes me sad when I hear anything like this, such a loveable charicter too.. Hope he gets through this ok, my thought's go out to his wife, daughters and family... :(

Sky News are reporting that he was critically injured, but is stable. They also say he was trying to beat the UK land speed record and was doing around 300mph at the time of the crash!

Poor sod. I hope he pulls through although I dont spose we will see much of him on air for a while. Apparently he beat the world land speed record and they was just doing some extra shots/takes for the show???

Can you imagine what a hero he's going to be on Top Gear when he pulls through?

Get well soon, Hamster!

OMG not another one? This is news to me, what a shock, poor *******, hope he going to be ok, a little man but huge enthusiasm, Top Gear wont be the same without him the 3 of them bounce off each other so well

Get well soon

Heard about this in the pub tonight! :(

Between Him, Jezza and Captain Slow they make an unbeatable trio.

Hope you pull thru Hamster.

My best wishes to you, your family and us fans.

Rich
