Started car yesterday morning and the wipers came on. The switch is off and the wipers are on normal wipe. Played with switch and Nothing.

Had to switch ignition off when wipers at the bottom and remove the 20 amp fuse.

Any Idea's? Does the motor have preset memory or is there some relay? Is it the switch.

Can get hold of one the morrow.

But somewhere my memory is telling me that the motors have a memory setting.

cant help you on that one mate sorry.

logically, there has to be a connection, for the power to make the wipers move, so if the switch is broke, then that could be it.

if you disconnect the battery when the wipers are at the rest postition , that should stop any memory issue would it not? then if you reconnect, and the wipers start again without you doing anything, you have a fault with switch.

you could also check a continuity tester on the switch itself possibly?

Its the motor gone tits up. I was right they do have a preset memory.

The gearing on the wiper motor has a cam wich operates the position switches. When this fails the motor turns continuously trying to find the 'park' position...

so you need a motor for the wiper's...or can you re-set it ....

....

Take the cover off and check the platic drive gear hasn't worn/broken where the switch contacts it... Online manual is in links... well the downloadable one is anyway:
