OK guys, with regards to my other thread "TT engine problems", I've started this to get a quicker responce!

Me and the guys at work have managed to push the car and free the engine!

I got my diesel next to her with the jump leads on the go and shes now turning but not fireing, before it wasn't even turning it was just clicking!

Is there a fuel cut of button anywhere as i havn't got a manual or can anyone surgest what else i could do to try and make it fire????

It just sounds like a normal, nothing wrong with it engine whilst it's turning and i've been informed that thats a good sign, right?!

Please help me my new best friends!!!! lol

Theres a beer in it for ya!!!! :duffer:

possibly a cas unit, the clicking instead of firing is caused by the battery being dead and not having enough power to turn the starter motor

How would i solve a PTU unit and you tell me what series it is!!!

It's a 1990, manual, cruise control with leather blah blah blah

( Power Transistor Unit ) 1990, more than likely ( if it has not been changed ) is a series one, which has a known problem to eventually fail, unlike the later series 2. ..the above links will explain all.. Anyone close to you that you can borrow one to test..assuming it is this of course

I was under the impression that a ptu only played up

when i got hot, then worked again when left to cool down?

If it is the ptu, heres a link to repair yours.. http://www.aus300zx.com/tech/pturepair/pturepair.htm

Looks a bit of a ballache of a job though!

Lol, seems olliezx beat me to that link! Doh! :p

is it getting fuel? if so and its trying to turn over i would take out the plugs give them a good clean, warm them up an stick them back in and try again :)

I know it's already been suggested but I had a similar problem last year, turned key - clicking noise and nothing else, which turned out to be a dodgy battery......I was charging it up, but it wouldn't hold enough to turn her over. I tried jumping her, but there wasn't enough in the missus's 205 to turn her over either...big ol' lump!!!! Bought a new battery and she started up first time...thankfully. Hope it turns out to be something that simple, good luck

by your description it sounds like the engine had seized and youve dragged it in gear to free it off.its more than likely this would have snapped the cambelt.this is why you have no spark or fuel as the cas is turned by the belt.

as james says check cambelt, followed by compression
