HF2000 .. I've built a couple .. Lancia Volumex motor .. Rockets .. proper Statos has Ferrari V6 in it but there a little hard to come by.. Rowan Atcinson has one

Looks like TR7 :wack:

Yeah but it handles and the motors in the back and it's fun to drive .. unlike a TR7 in every respect :)

what kind of money are they going for these days?

cant seem to find any for sale ( not that i could afford one anyway!)

Proper Stratos can't be bought .. Like mega money but you can build a kit HF2000 for about £4000 if you can find a Volumex motor.. "I've got one by the way"

They recon if you can find a 308 motor to fit in the kit, it's faster than the real car but try finding a 308GTB motor. Other option is an Alfa 164 V6 3000.

What engine did it have Craig?

Hi Mac

Orig car had the V6 Ferrari motor that was in the 308GTB .. The HF kits take the Beta 2000ltr motors best of which is the Volumex fitted with a Roots supercharger and much bigger crank bearings and MASSIVE amouts of torque from like 1000rpm.. The HF3000 kit takes the alfa 164 3000 V6 but adds weight .. good kit but it's a track car really in the end

I think they made only around 500 roadgoing versions. it was pretty much the first purpose built homologated rally car. Designed by Marcello Gandini of Lambo Muira, Countach and Diablo fame....so there's a 300ZX link in there :D

Forgive me if im wrong but i thought that the original stratos had a ferrari v6 from the ferrai dineo,

if i remember correctly it had 195 bhp standerd a lot back in those days (early 70s)

the 308 had a v8 which started as a 2.8 and went up to a 3.2 for the 328.

feel free to correct me but i have done a bit of car reading since 1972 and am still at it (waiting for all the slow reader,...and thick book or person quotes) :)

heres the new version, and what do you think of the orca? (orange car)

audi v8 4.2 700BHP

oh yeah and i think somewhere around €600.000.00

theres an orange one near me! doubt if its a real stratos, but looks ace and sounds even better.

i love the look off the new one, split screen is a bit strange tho.

so are they definatly getting made?

if so...i want i want i want!!!

no-one makes rally cars like lancia the stratos (i love), the 037 (my fav) and the delta (my fav i love) why dont they make a new rally car and show the japs and french how its done.

the engine was out of a dino it was 2418 cc, V6 with 190bhp and for racing it had 280bhp and higher but the same engine

Ok so I stand corrected :) I've only been involved with the HF2000 and 3000 kits and not many Ferrari motors lying about to drop in. Unlike the rust bucket 164's, plenty of cracking 3ltr V6's out a them going about
