Is there an easy way of replacing the front tie rod dust boots? which are the corragated rubber ones shown in the picture below. Will it be a matter of taking the front whhels off breaking the ball joint undoing the nut adjuster on the middle of the tie rod and slipping old boot off and putting new one on? Thanks for your replies in advance guys. This is all I need for a 12 months MOT

Yes mate, just as you said really, remove wheel, remove track rod end, take off the old boot and put on the new one, remember to count the number of turns off when you remove the track rod and then put it back on with the same number of turns, did mine a couple of months ago and its one of the easier jobs on a Zed.

it is relatively easy, but when you go to buy one from NIssan, or MJP, refer to it as at steering rack gaiter - or is it gator?

Good luck

I am having troble taking the track rod end off as the flats on the rod it's self seem to be worn, also it seems to be stuck tight. Any more advice on taking the tie rod apart so I can fit the new boot?? all help gratefully aprieciated.

All I can suggest is soak the rod threads with loads of PlusGas or similar, leave that a while to soak in then get some good molegrips preferablly with straight jaws on it as tight as possible and have another go, there are other methods such as using heat but that can be a bit tricky unless you have practiced it a few times.
