Hi people,

I changed my spark plugs today and found a couple of issues.

1. Coilpack number 5 and 6 I found with its rubber part on the bottom cracked.

and

2. Spark plug number 3 I found the screw bit of the plug oily.

Just wanted to know whether if these are serious issues. I did take the car out for a little drive. Due to traffic, I couldn't take the car to higher speeds but so far no sign of missfire or anything.

Any help would be appreciated guys.

Cheers.

Yep this could cause possible problems. One of mine went like that, it ran fine until you floored it and the spark would arch to ground, thus causing misfire, neat fuel going into the cat, and detonation/overeat within the cat..... on the whole, not a good situation, as I'm sure you can guess!

As for point 2, sorry not sure on that one.

Thanks for that Daves_Zed. I'll sort that out before taking her out then.

Anyone got any ideas on point no.2.

Anyone got any ideas on point no.2.

if it was a bit of oil on the screw part of the plug before you pulled the plug out,it could be a leaking cam cover if it was in the bore possibly worn rings, however i wouldnt worry unless you are burning oil or compression is poor on that cylinder,if your talking a small amount then i wouldnt worry if its sopping then i would get it checked

Thanks greg. I will look into it on how the oil is on the new plug in a few days and take it from there.
