Active X Problem

im trying to run a piece of software across a network, but need to install and active X file (.ocx) on a workstation, but cant remember how :headvswal ?

any ideas?

(ps i dont have the disks for the program)

don't you use something like register in the cmd prompt? got its years since i registered a dll file

 

it's an ocx file, it's registerd on the host pc but over the network all i get it "file ****.cox is missing or corrupted" dll's you can just right click and install

hmmm sure i had that problem before bud and i can't remember what i did to fix it. i'll have a think over lunch mate

Okay how about this:

 

download the activex control manually

 

write a small html file with an the same as the page you're trying to load only pointing to a local folder

 

execute the page in a browser and it should install locally

 

visit the page you wanted again and it should have installed no problem

it's a piece of software on the other worksation, you cant download the program bud. just need to install the one ocx file from the other pc,
