OK bud i think that is to much..you got a tug because you got a small one..........

.. .....

Well if you have a ticket it's got his details on it!!! Put an official complaint, in writing, into his superiors, stating exactly what happened and also list any witnesses to the officers actions. Maybe go along the lines of, you are perfectly happy to receive advice on what is legal or not as it's sometimes not totally clear, but a PUBLIC SERVANT, obviously, and intentionally, trying to antagonise a local event that brings money to the local economy is not how you expect to be treated, and that maybe the local authority should think twice before allowing this particular officer to police such areas in the future considering his attitude to local tourism.

Also I think police forces also have oversight comittee's, copy any letters to them as well and also to the local press. He was obviously trying to make a pest of himself - return the favour ;)

Poor soul... Like so many other Traffic Coppers, the childhood psychologial trauma of being molested by their fathers takes it's toll on them in later life.

Bunch of ****ing authoritarian, superiority complex mo##er****ers!

http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/regmarks/reg_marks_current_requirements.htm

"The British Standard also requires that a number plate must be marked with the following information: -

The British Standard Number (currently BS AU 145d)

The name, trade mark, or other means of identification of the manufacturer or component supplier. (The company who actually make the number plate.)

The name and postcode of the supplying outlet. (The 'supplying outlet' is taken to mean a company whose business consists wholly or partly of selling number plates.)

A non-reflective border and the Euro-symbol with the national identification letters are optional additions.

There shall be no other markings or material contained on the number plate.

"

I think that technically he may be right. :(

Still a :xxx: though

Jason, I wouldn't personally contest it, it is illegal to have the ghost writing, you will probably find that you also do not have the BS145a mark on plate, effectively the offence is having no registration plate. If you contest and get found guilty they could revoke your numberplate and you or anyone else can ever purchase it again.

This is what the DVLA say your need to have on your plate.

.1 The British Standard Number (currently BS AU 145d)

2. The name, trade mark, or other means of identification of the manufacturer or component supplier. (The company who actually make the number plate.)

3. The name and postcode of the supplying outlet. (The 'supplying outlet' is taken to mean a company whose business consists wholly or partly of selling number plates.)

4. A non-reflective border and the Euro-symbol with the national identification letters are optional additions.

5. There shall be no other markings or material contained on the number plate.

So, annoying as it is, having 'Beast' ghosted in the background breaks rule 5. I'm not saying what the copper did was right, (sounds like he was bored to me) all I'm saying is that writing a letter of complaint will do no good.

This is what the DVLA say your need to have on your plate.
Is there an echo in here? ;)

still gonna have a go cause the company what done it should be responsible then because they knew it had to comply

still gonna have a go cause the company what done it should be responsible then because they knew it had to comply

the only problem with that is they could turn around and say they didn't know you were gonna use them on the road or something.

still gonna have a go cause the company what done it should be responsible then because they knew it had to comply

Where did you get it done ? If it was online, then the websites have clauses saying they are for off-road use only..and most of them are in Ireland where they can loophole the law.

If it was an actual shop, then they have to create a Road legal plate, and document the purchase with DVLA.
