has anyone heard of a 4 wheel drive zed?

I drive a zed with 4 wheels!

thought about this myself, wondered about one with the running gear of a skyline

i just thought that someone would have tried this. especially some one in the states

You see them advertised but generally it's people who've got confused with 4 wheel steering.

 

I've never seen a 4WD Zed.

Some people have stuck in RB25 and 26s. I reckon it would be possible to do, but you'd need to cut a lateral groove in the floor of your car to make way for the side bit of the transfer case. You'd also need the sump and front diff of the RB26 (and rear diff) and god knows what would happen to the crossmember during all of this. But where theres a will, theres a way.

Because you can, no one else has done it so would be unique, it`s not the practical side of it it`s doing what no one else has

No way mate.............iv been driving her around and the response has been brill so far............dont think ill get rid of her for a while

i briefly looked into it and yes its possible but you would need to do a RB26 engine transplant as well so it would basically be a skyline with a 300 body which doesnt really make it a 300 anymore does it?

 

it does open up a load of tuning oppotunities though :) big singles, seq box's etc etc ;)
