right guys, the thought of selling is ripening in my head!!

i love my zed to bits but im not sure if i can warrant spending the money on it that i need to spend to get it looking how i want.

im thinking of selling and putting the cash towards a nissan silvia s15.

Im not definatly going to sell up although the thought as been in my mind for a few weeks now.

no doubt a good wash and polish and a nice drive out will cure me, but as of this moment im searching the net for s15 silvias.

HELP!

cheers

si

Be sorry to see it go, but then again, the S15 Silvia is something very special and even more of a rare sight on the roads than the Zed is. I think if I'd had my Zed for a bit longer and wanted to chop it in for something like that, then an S15 would deffinately be the way I'd go.

what is it that you want to do with it

firstly some new wheels, a vented carbon fibre bonnet but il be having it partly sprayed leaving just behind the vent to the windscreen carban fibre, and a few other little touches as well as a bit of bling under the bonnet,

plus new shocks, clutch.

DAMN!!

I want one even more now :(

They go...if you can find one, for around £10k don't they? You can't import them at the moment either as they are not 10 years old yet and there's not model report for them. The ones that are over here are quite sought after.

...to add, I love them and would have the above black one over my Zed without hesitation.

my wheels cost £1100 (18" rota gtr's 9.5 rears 8 fronts with tyres) my new clutch (smithy rps street clutch) with a second hand lightened flywheel cost about £600 and a bonnet would cost about £450

now how much do you think you would get for your car (baring in mind as nice as it is, they aint selling for a lot of cash) and how much would you have to put towards an s15, weigh up the costs of getting your zed looking the way you want it and the cost of selling yours and putting money to an s15

It would certaintly cost a lot less to make the changes to your car, than it would to buy a S15 and a lot less to make all the changes to get it looking like the one above...and that S15 still is'nt half as impressive as a nicely sorted Zed.

You've dont so much to yours, it seems a shame to get rid becuase there are just a few more things you want, but are your reasons just an excuse ?

I dont know much about S15's, dont really appeal to me, not on the same level as a zed.

bahh!!! tried phoning you earlier!!

sometimes things just have to be done!!

phone me in a bit

10k would buy a standard s15, then how much would it cost to modify it (quite a lot)

wait till my zed is finished, then i will let ya know how much it all cost

Si - yours is a pretty much sorted motor mate, very nice!!! I wouldnt do it, although I absolutely LOVE the s15 and in black even better!!!!

Hard choice dude.

DITTO DITTO DITTO..........Sell up if you must......May as well get a

Scooby Do.........

s15 is a lovely motor, and moding any 200 is cheap as chips compared with a zed (just look at the engine out issue for us turbos wise!) but getting one in the country is tough! And as legrath said, getting an s15 to have the kerb appeal like a zed will cost you thousands! But if you just want a change then its a nice car that wont cost you as much to run!

dont do it Si you come tooo far with your Zed, i was beh

CARRY ON... I WAS BEHIND IT PULLING AWAY FROM cARBROOK, IT LOOKED gORGEOUS HUN!!!!!!!!!!! I said to my bloke how mint it looked, he agreed, do not do it your zED IS TOO IMPRESSIVE!! its a real head turner!!

sorry caps lock

I've looked at S15s before.

Nice car but they look very plain without a bodykit. The cheap tunability appeals though.

You're looking at at least £10K for a 1999 - not cheap - you could get a 350Z for a little more - or a Merc CL500!

I've always liked yours mate, its a top colour and i like what you've done with it :D

It's up to you at the end of the day though fella, a sad loss to the club though both car and club member

the S15 is awesome, I drove a Silvia S15 JDM Spec R Aero in Thailand once. its awesome, very different to a zed but great nonetheless. I would have an S15 over a 350z i reckon they are that good. the sr20det motor is rock solid.

BTW there is a model report available for it so you can personally import it.

Heres a list of every car theres a model report for http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/publications/model%20reports%20list.pdf

http://www.modelreportsdirect.com has full details about the esva conversion and they have the model report its about 500 quid for a one time use of the report.
