I booted it today for quite a while on the motorway, and there was lots of smoke coming from under the car. Looked and had gearbox fluid dripping onto the exhaust and smoking. Checked level and it is still full (may even be overfilled, as it is above the hot MAX mark even now). It doesn't do this or seem to leak except when really booting it, although I have noticed a slight wetness under there whenever I have looked under car, probably from when I've booted it before. What do you reckon needs sorting? Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you checking the autobox oil level with the engine running? these symptoms have been talked about a lot recently and main culprit seems to be rear crank oil seals.

Yes, I am checking with engine running and I move gear lever back and forth a few times before checking. It is def gearbox fluid, NOT engine oil that is leaking.

I got the exact same problem only noticed it the other day only when you boot it does it leak then smokes. :(

In hot weather and going fast the fluid expands a great deal, so then it may be (and appear) overfull, and leak. Maybe?
