I would say £240 would be more the price for an NA. Thats working on a hourly rate of £30 per hour and giving them 8 hours to do the job.

Thanx man , i thought that was a lot of money !!! i`m tempted to have a go myself ...i am a mechanic but no longer have the facilities .

I`ll have a go at phoning a few people first ... i`m in Manchester .

Cheers,

Pete.

Just out of intesest..... Have you sourced some correct RHD fitment manifolds or are you asking someone to fit LHD, US spec ones from Stillen or off Ebay???

If you are trying to do it with LHD ones then the £500 might be nearer the mark as they will have to be fitted and removed a dozen times till they are hammered/welded into place.

Also dont forget the danger of a broken stud (or more). This will push up the price too.

took me 6hrs including any mods (o2 sensor bushes etc) to fit the stillens I got off you, so I would agree with your price......

Hi Pete,

Did i read somewhere that you`d fitted your own ?

If so can you give me an idea of how to go about it .

I have bought these from ebay .... before i paid i made the bloke assure me that they would fit without mods ....or.....i get a full refund with no questions asked , i got them for £67 so its not the end of the world.

They don`t look too badly fabricated ....i suppose i`ll see ??

all the ebay sellers say that... Its all boll*X too. They DONT fit without mods.

You need to trial fit and remove then flatten slightly to get the steering column to clear. Even the Stillen ones I believe.

Also some of the ebay ones have the RH Lambda sensor placed where it too fouls the column. So the boss needs to be relocated. Trial and error on - off car.

But at that price. Well what a bargain.

i had a "mate with his own workshop fit mine. Good job I was only paying "mates rates"!!!!!

yep, quite right Pete, even the stillens needed modding, although I didn't need to flatten them, only grind part of a weld and fit both o2 sensor bosses, only had to do 2 trial fits to the drivers side and once to the passenger side. some of the original manifold bolts are a bitch to get at, I think I was lucky because all the nuts came off with no problem.I also found that the passenger manilfolds go in/out no problem without having to remove anything, but the driverside is easier with the starter motor off and out of the way and be very careful not to break the o2 sensors. Still if you know what your doing and have the tools to do it, then it isn't a hard job.
