Peak District

As I have a week's camping in the Peak District coming up has anyone got any ideas/suggestions on where to visit and things to do???? (No problems travelling)

Me and Mrs A are camping at Longnor, just south of Buxton, week commencing 7th Aug.

Looking at 1 day in/around Stafford as I used to live there so could meet up for a beer with any members from that area. Also looking at doing the Tissington Trail. Other than that......................?????????????????????

When I spent a weekend there a couple of years ago I visited:

Heights of Abraham at Matlock Bath

Pooles Cavern (Buxton IIRC?)

Blue John Cavern (Castleton) - Castleton itself was quite nice too

Peak Cavern (Castleton)

The Peak Railway at Darley Dale

Arkwrights Mill at Cromford

Also enjoyed an authentic bakewell pudding (Don't say tart!) in Bakewell.

I thought it was a pretty nice place to visit. Stayed in an excellent hotel too - The Peacock at Rowsley (midway between Matlock and Bakewell).

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
