when i got the Zed..

 

As some fo you might know... my stoopid Zed is off the road. Its driving me insane. I hate getting home from work and seeing the darn thing parked up.

 

Its been like 4 weeks now i haven't had my car... first it was the power steering hose... that got replaced then the pipe which joins onto it broke when fitting the hose. And you think i can find one of these friggin things.

 

So I've had to ask Atlas (cranes) to see if they can make one.. and they've taken it to their offices. Now i cant exactly chase them up every day (like a normal garage) coz it is like a favour they are doing.....

 

But it does my head in ... the longer its taking to fix, the more i'm losing interest in the Zed... :headvswal

 

 

anyway.... its like one of those AA meetings.... hi, I'm Athene & i hate my Zed.

Many times ive had my "Fun" car in the garage not just my zed and been to shows and got real grummpy that mines stripped down etc.

It can help you get focused and determined to get out there and get it fixed.

Don't worry hunnipie, it's not the end of the world. Last year I planned to go to so many events and shows, then my gearbox blew-up! I got it fixed, then at JAE the linkage fell off, then six weeks later it blew-up again!! :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal It'll be OK in the end, just have faith :D (easy for me to say I know)

know how you feel not had my z for 12 weeks now and it's driving me mad not being able to drive the damn thing but it'll be back soon i hope

I was given a great bit of advice when i first got my zed.

 

Lift the bonnet, write every single part number down that you can see........

i was driving through there - in a hire car... (note a 1.4 automatic CORSA) with no sat nav.... having never been there before in my life... when i was meant to be on the M25.. but a lorry was burning up.. so detoured to Brighton to get to Southampton...

 

had to phone mate @ work, and ask him to get directions... this is how the conversation went..

 

him: where are you, what can you see

 

me: in brighton i think

 

him: what can you see

 

me: the sea

 

him: what side is the sea

 

me: the other side... the left side

 

him: so the sea is on the left side? yeah?

 

me: no not anymore, i just went roud a roundabout....

 

 

etc etc

 

 

it took me 5 hours to get home from brighton (thanks to traffic.. cough cough)

I think its just a factor that zeds are all about 10-15years old now and approaching the life of some of the major components. Expensive times to kepp the buggers on the road, and the next few years will decide the cars future as a modern classic or just as a really rare cars.

 

Look how many people have taken to breaking their zeds recently because of minor (ish) faults or not being able to sell them for decent money.

 

Easy to say, but i understand why peoples will doesnt stretch to replacing turbos when for about the same money you can buy another zed and just run that!

well, there's the sea. but you knew that already hehe. a pier. lots of cool bars. good nightlife, nice parks, interesting people and places...
