Dunno if many of you have done this before but it involved taking the whole targa top apart. Nasty. I got to the bit where I had to unscrew the screws that keep the rubber on the aluminium (http://s95014253.onlinehome.us/63104/13701.html - part 6) and one of the screws had rusted itself to tiny iron filings. Although the other side of the screw was fine so I just couldn't undo it. Made the whole job a right bugger. Anyone else find that there's always something totally stupid hindering you when the job should be very straightforward?

I also changed my yellow wing repeaters for clear ones and the slot for the bulb holder is different so I had to chop the old one off then attach the new ones instead of it being a straight swap. It's never simple is it!

Which one was it, one of the centre ones or an outside one?

I had this very same problem (also today), but mine was an outside edge one, so i managed to 'force' the lockin assembly upwards enough to get a stubby screwdriver into remove the trim screws.

Hope that is of help to you.

I know mate!

"It'll only take an hour" you say to yourself... :slap:

I had all sorts of trouble doing my shocks- there's a thread somewhere... it culminated in me getting trapped inside the car and nearly dislocating my shoulder shortly afterwards!

Also I left one of my rear lights in the oven too long doing the clear-lens conversion, I always drop something in the oil tray when I'm doing a change, whenever I have to take the boot trim apart I end up dropping a screw between 2 things and spend an extra hour taking more bits of trim/carpet out to rescue the bugger.

In short- you're not the only one! :)

It's the moulding that runs level with those little mouldings andlevel with the windscreen moulding. I managed to get it done but I can see a gap at one of the ends in between rubber and glass so I'm predicting a pond in my car soon. having said that, with that screw crumbiling I can only assume it had been letting water in all along and letting is just swish about and slowly leak into the cabin. Not fast enough to cause a puddle though.

Lol, luckily I haven't been trapped inside the car yet.
