A while ago Jeff TT posted a Top Tip regarding how to eliminate the smell, and bacteria, from your Air-Con system. Here if you want it!
Well I've been trying to obtain an spray can of this stuff, I found a couple of companies that supply it, but hadn't got around to buying it yet. When i was in Halfords the other day I just happened to spot , what i thought at the time, was a can of this stuff. Well it was, in sorts.
What you do is set the Air-Con onto recirculate, put the fan on full blast, push the passenger seat fully forward, close all the windows, place the can on the rear passenger footwell, press down the spray button (which locks into place) and exit the car (pretty damm quick!!) making sure all the doors are shut. Once the can has emptied it's contents leave it another 5 minutes and then switch off the Air-Con and dispose of the empty can! JOB DONE, fresher smelling air, and no bacteria in your system. What could be simpler? I did mine while waiting for the oil flush to work before my oil change!
It's by Comma, and it's simply called 'Air Conditioning Cleaner' and only cost £9.95, bargain I thought.
