bah humbug!

JUST KIDDING!

Hi to everyone

  • Author

well i didnt say, lets all say hi on my thread, i already know everyone

thought it would be a good idea to have a new section

I think it's a very good idea. From my point of view, when I joined, it felt like it was a very closed in group and was a proper outsider that would have trouble infiltrating the well established ranks. Now I've been on here for a little while I do feel more at ease but perhaps a nice big welcome to new members would be an idea. I might sound a bit gay, but you asked.

It does seem that loads of other forums have a 'say hello' section. Good idea as far as i'm concerned. Only benificial if people reply though. When I introduced myself on the Skyline forum I didn't have one reply. Misserable fekkers!!

just thought it would be a good ice breaker, so instead of seeing threads about suing each other and not being able to spell proper, new members would be able to see the warmer welcoming side to us

maybe there are too many miserable people on here that dont give a fook

Yep

I thinks its a good idea

:D

i'll probably be in the minority here lol

a good idea in theory, but as apollo says if no one replies to a HI thread

then the new user may think, bunch of miserable *******s :(

whereas a new user USUALLY posts as a first with either a help or photos

and then very rare no one doesn't reply

maybe a good idea for a hi and introduction and where from part, and the relevant area reps' should regularly check for new members from their area

at least one person replies lol, i know we already have area sections but new users may not always go their first

well, will anything happen about this-or not

5 people think that its a good idea, so its not a total waste of time

great idea.....im a member of kerrazy torrents and theyve got an introductions thread...........it seems though that the new females get most of the attention, why is that?

As steevo said new female members tend to get alot more attention than males when introducing themselves and sometimes it can get a bit out of hand (as i mentioned in another thread yesterday).

But on the whole I think its a good idea although most new members first post will be a cry for help.

My first post was in "General Discussion" and was a bit of both as I know some people can get a bit hacked of with new members joining a board only to ask a few questions and then they bugger off never to be heard from again without contributing towards the "community".

A "stickied" introductions thread that the new member is pointed to during the signing up process would probably be a good idea and might help to keep it all in one place so to speak, instead of threads popping up in random places and spamming the wrong forums.

Let's go for it, yipppeee we like new peeps as much as old peeps
