I bought one of those 10ft pools that everyone's got and filled it with water no problems there.......

turned the filter on and covered the pool up, a week later the water has gone green and theres a film of slime on the bottom of the pool.......

has taken me 2 days to get it clean again and i'm ready to fill it back up, but before I do that does anyone know of any additive that I can add to the water thats suitable for these pools in the garden, i've had no joy at the place i bought the pool from.

has anyone else had this problem ???

thanks guys...

We had one the same size and had the same problem. Went down garden centre and came home armed with chlorine granues, testing stips and some kind of liquid that stops the green stuff!! It was fine for the rest of the summer then. Think it all cost about £30.

most of the places that sell those outdoor spas will have what you need

I have a 15ft 4ft deep one and i use chlorine powder and a ph balancer, test it with ph paper strips and its right for the year, just top up with a few cap fulls every couple of days

I grew up with a pool and what you need is chlorine (tabs or granules) Ph kit and algaecide this kills the green stuff Algae. Test the ph daily and add chemicals as needed.
