Does anybody have a pic of the tailgate with the oem spoiler taken off before skinning.

Its just that I want to see what it looks like with just the spoiler off and no bodywork done.

Cheers, Scrawn.

HTH, my spoiler is still off, so if ya need anymore pics gis a shout

OOOWW that looks messy,

Can you do me some close ups when you clean the gunk off please mate.

Luke told me there is quite a bit of work involved putting on a skin ie.filling and sanding. He told me to knock the holes down with a ball pein hammer (ball end) to make them concave, then only a small bit of filler is required. He then just flogged me the black plastic bit and saved me £50. ;)

How do you get the gunk off, i tried everything and it wont budge, going to leave it to the bodyshop who paints it i reckon.

Oh and theres no skin going on mine, smoothed and perspex panel.

i just put a wood chisel under it and scraped it off, but im putting a skin on mine as i want the raised lip on it

Some pics from when I did mine. Recently did the wifes Zed too, but cant find my pics of that.

i had my holes migged up that way no fillerdrop after a few years or marks, also when i fitted the rear perspex panel i had to drill some extra holes and then i squared them up with needle files for the clips to go through, some people dont do this and just use a sealer to stick it to the back. it already has a rubber/foam edge to it along the sides so i just made the holes, should have a pic somewhere.

Before and after..................

The BLUE circles indicate the holes left by a standard spoiler. The YELLOW circles indicate the holes for fitting a perspex panel. The GREEN circles indicate holes that you may wish to make, so that the perspex panel fits snug (as per pk1)

Just ignore the RED circles as I had something else on mine.

The finished result (an old pic now ;) ) all nice and smooth. All redundant holes were lead filled by my bodyshop guy.

How much are we talking to get the old spoiler area filled/welded/lead filled and repainted as I need to get rid of my 'sponge' as it's full of water and get the perspex panel from Luke.

...

Total costs....

Parts....... Panel = £85........ Badge = £15 + VAT = £117.50 both from Luke at the ZCentre

Paint, filling and all labour = £100... My local bodyshop bloke.

So £217.50 for the whole job.

But if I knew then what I know now, I would have done it differently. I would have kept the raised spoiler and removed the infill panel, then had the holes smoothed and the panel fitted. But you live-&-learn ;)

But then I have changed it now, again ;) :D

What do you mean by the infill panel mate?
