ooh please gimme link for software. When you say build the software, you can get the source code? That could mean the display could looks something more groovy :)

I've never seen wastegate % or fuel level readings before, interesting. I'll read the links in the morning.

I like the fact it tells you how much petrol is left, would be interested in getting hold of the original source code and implimenting a MPG counter/fuel economy meter hmmm

Blimey that was fast!

LOL, cheers, I built it some months ago, software now downloaded !

I did the board on veroboard, it's a 'bit' of a mess but works and fits neatly in a small box. I don't however have the correct connector I just shove the pins into to correct positions, would be nice to have the connector though !

I used to be able to make boards when i did A Level design/technology, is there any other way of making printed circuit boards without the etching tank?

I built one a couple of years ago only to find it won't work with my 16-bit ecu!?

Even bought a pre-built one only to find the same. (pi$$er).

Bought the Blazt connector & it worked perfectly!

Mike used to sell the pcb's for the DIY'ers but he's since moved on to other things.

These guys seem to be able to produce one off PCBs for people as well:

There's also a nice little company in Ireland that will produce one off PCBs for you very cheaply if you want the contact details I can get them for you. We do PCB design by the way

If you/your hubby could make one up from the plans i'd be much appreciative :D

Then all i'd have to do is solder in the bits and bobs your uncles, fanny's your aunt!

not as far as im aware .. i still do it the same old way

Damn by the time i've bought an etching tank and a uv lamp with all the chemicals etc it'll be cheaper to just buy the real thing :(

Yeah forgot to add that to the expense list....

Drill with little drill bit so small you break the fookers every five mins :D

Hubbie has the etchning tank, Light box and chemicals have a word with me.

yes there is a way of making the boards without etching, its a transfer system, you put the film in a printer, print the schematic to the film, apply to copper board and i think put in oven or under heat gun, i will check what it is tonight.

If anyone wants to save themselves some hassle, I have USB and Serial cables with the PCB boards built in that will work with Zcontrol, Datascan, Ztalk and many more in stock for £45 + P&P

I dont have a serial port on my lap top. Will that be a problem or could I use one of the USB cables that you are selling?

Thanks Andrew :D

usb will befine on your laptop, if it doesnt find the usb drivers for it you can download them from the blatz site, but as long as you have usb on you lappy yes you can use the one off legrath.
