Going fishing tommorow for the first time since last autumn :hyper:

Getting up at 5 to be at the lake for 6am-The fishery i go to you catch 3-5lb carp one after another all day long-you have to rest your arm sometimes!

Sometimes you get smashed up by 15lb+ ones though i did manage to land a 12lb one last year on 4lb line lol.

Cant wait-wahoooo! :hyper:

With the nice weather got to go early before it gets too hot-

Very Mr Crabtree with an empty lake at 6am during the week

lLovely!

try fish baits like cockles , the carp love them get them from fish counter at your local or try outside of pubs etc they love them , throw a few in first few offerings , then drop one in hooked bud, the water will be cloudy trust me theyl munch them up

Ive got some salami and luncheon meat boilies as they seem to love meat baits where i go.

Never tried cockles but loads of people rate em.

its what i did i couldnt beleive it , either but i was the only one on lake who was catching ,, when they walked past they asked what i had ,, the place was empty for 1hr , then they all come back , with you no what !!!

Might get some after i go down gym later-can you use the ones from a jar as well?

as long as there in date yes , i think fresh ones much better results though , even if there frozen thaw them out in the lake !!

I landed my biggest ever carp 34lbs on 4lb line, a size 12 sweetcorn hook and on a 6ft spinning rod. I had to let it circle the pond 4 times and it took me 45 mins to land and it snapped my net handle but it was all worth it.

It took me half an hour with that 12lb one as i had already been smashed 4 times that day already.

i would try stronger line and proper carp gear but they dont seem to respond to those tatics.

i'm going next week, i'm a proper carper though, with a bivee tent and 2 rods :)

trout pellets have always done me good, problem is stopping smaller fish taking them

I live just in sight of Drayton fishery and have walked around there many times. I haven't fished it for a few years yet but am thinking of starting up again.

It got too easy to catch at one point, even when no one else was. The one day I had about 150 pounds out in the form of 8 to 10 pounders, I also got snapped up 6 times on 12 pound line straight through to the hook.

There was 8 matches on that day and 5 teams went away empty netted with only one other person catching, she had more than me out but was fishing the same way, right at the margins and at the end of our rods, every bait I put on the hook worked.

So might start back up again as I work nights and the evening is all mine.
