Just after I got my Zed the Managing Directors of the firm i work for bought their 21 year old son a Supra (so he didn't feel insignificant next to a mear employee)

It's a UK spec TT auto in black on 19's.

I knew sooner or later that we'd find ourselves on the same road at the same time and wasn't looking forward to it, especially as he has de cats, Apexi gubbins and some other bits and bobs and recons he's pushing almost 400horse.

The time came last thursday night. He pulled into the petrol station where i was fillin up and challenged me :xxx:

I drove my 16 year old zed the hardest id driven it since i got it. The scramble lasted 5 miles of dual carrageway and winding A road.

And guess what...

I minced him

My baby did me proud, although there was a lot of tactical driving invovled he didn't have the edge on me that i thought he would, even on the straits.

As an extra bonus... After having such a rigorous work out, the lazy tappet that usually ticks away when she gets hot has now almost completely quitened down!!!

and the morale of the story is... persevere with the unreliability because once you get it sorted, wiping the smile off the face of some smug **** who spent 4 times the money on his ride is priceless!!!

warning!!!!

Don't underestimate the new Jags. Dunno what it was, latest reincarnation of the old XJ6 all black with blacked out chrome. After trying to undertake me on a roundabout I pulled away from him up to about a ton but then as i got close to the red line in 3rd he actually started to gain on me!!!! Luckilly there are a lot of roundabouts on that stretch and I used my low end acceleration to keep putting distance between us but in the end I pulled in just before my exit and he flew past me, must have been doing almost 150!!!

You win some, you lose some.

My parents junked the granada estate (still running i might add!) at 198,000 on the clock this year so they just have the escort drop top but they need a cheap estate to run round and do runs to the rubbish tip etc so i'm thinking about buying another cheap diesal on the condition they pay the insurance under my name with them as named drivers so i can use it as a day to day works car and keep the zed as a fun car :)

Best thing to do is have a diesel as an every day car and then when you get in the zed you still appreciate its speed LOL

thats what i had before getting my N/A was like getting into a lambo ... with better looks ofcourse :D
