Been monitoring what's been said between Paul Stevens and Ryan tonight and to be honest I think that Matty has a point!!!

Let's say that someone goes to a garage and they're not happy with the way they've been treated, they post that on here and that is surely for the good of the rest of the membership.

My point is that if these posts/threads didn't appear then maybe more innocent members would goto that garage and have a similar experience and would be equally disgruntled!

I did this way back when the forum was in its infancy and I had the same kind of response. NOOOO you can't slag off the only official Skyline main dealer of the UK. But my point is that if you're not happy in an individual case then why does it have to be taboo that it cannot be aired on here?

AUP? Man that is so lame!

AUP was dreamed up and written to quash this sort of approach from members who want to make it known to other paid up members that they have had a bad experience with a garage or trader etc.

Personally I don't think this sort of thing should be kept behind closed doors! I seem to recall recently or over the past few months threads that are titled "Name and Shame!" so yes we are happy to disclose phantom traders who don't honour their agreements or people who are trading parts in the For Sale and Wanted section...but when it comes down to someone not being happy with a garage then that is not an appropriate subject to be discussed on here?

What a joke!!!

its the smae with a thanx for the help thread, no onme says well done to the lad who goes out of his way to help or say well done this is what a club is about, but when there is dirt to be slung there are mudslingers coming in from every direction

Agreed.......

Only facts should be stated, nobody else should have an opinion unless they have heard only facts (someones hear say isn't good enough!) people that come on here giving insults to said people for no good reason shouldn't be allowed either......

People should base their opinions on facts and not get involved in slinging said mud!

Matty.

All these threads about Moderation seem a big fuss about nothing, which have all started becuase Paul vs Ryan thread was Moderated.

That thread was correctly moderated.....Paul had has his say, and rightly so, but others were joining in, and Ryan was away on Holiday. So it was rightly closed, until Ryan returns and can reply.

Without taking sides, you can't say fairer than that !

the voice of reason!

Paul - I really dont think it is reasonable or fair to post your account of the facts at this stage without Ryan being able to reply.

As said before, Shunter has replied to your last post & is going to contact Ryan on his return - what more can be done until then?

this really isnt doing your cause any good IMHO.

why not let Neil do his bit & wait until he has spoken to Ryan.

fair comment and i will wait until then but , i mean this in this nicest possible way if i hear nothing by tuesday night will asume the usuall ,

dont meant that to sound as bad as it looks , but want a fair hearing on both sides and no that ive had to wait the longest for this day ,so will wait till tuesday night as said , thank you !

I BELIEVE THIS HAS BEEN ON GOING FOR 9 MONTHS HOW LONG SHOULD IT TAKE TO SORT OUT

I BELIEVE THIS HAS BEEN ON GOING FOR 9 MONTHS HOW LONG SHOULD IT TAKE TO SORT OUT

please dont shout.

it has been responded to & something is being done to sort it out.

thanks.

I have to agree with some of the comments on this thread, although its all started because of the paul and ryan situation, there is most likely be more problems going which people don't want or dont feel they can say on here.

I think that people should be allowd their say, afterall its the after sales experience that people will remember. If i was a trader i would be looking out for the best interest of a client after i have done work or sold them a product.

Just my 2p

and again its a general comment and nothing to do with paul and ryans situation.

I do hope you can both get this sorted though

Membership No 0780

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

not a lot else i can from here lol...........you see the odd blow ups like these every few months or so on here its not such a bad thing as it clears the air

Currently i so far have had no problems with traders/members on here as from buying product/services from traders on this site, but do know people who have and feel unsure about having a good whinge on here as fearing for the repricusions.

I think everybody should have the right to discuss their problems on the 'General' thread if discussion through PM/phone/TLO's have made no change to the problem.

Sometimes i feel it turns into a members Vs trader conflict on here which is not right as the trader as much as a right to whinge about the customer as the the member has to whinge about the trader.

Hope this whole situation gets resolved

All the best

I havent got a clue aboout paul and ryans issues. So I am able to take a unbiased viewpoint.

I for 1 agree with teh AUP, However!

I donot agree with cencorship, I feel any member on here has teh right to disclose thier side of the story that is FACTUAL and I also agree that the respondent is entitled to their side equaly. At that point I think the AUP should be put in place and the topic closed with no other posts in it. That way we as individuals can make up our own minds.

I for one have had good and bad experiances, for the main they have been good, and I cant realy say the bad have been bad, just unsatifactory. But if I was to have a problem I think I should be allowed to voice it. It is no different than if we where to meet face to face, but unlike face to face, this logs what you say. And the club has to be aware of the legal ramifications of ones litterary actions.

Basicaly you cant write what you want, if its not truthfull its unlawfull and slanderous.

So stick to teh fact and uphld the AUP

sometimes I think most people do not feel comfortable talking about bad experiences with traders on this site, I find out most of these problems from word of mouth because of this. people are going to have bad experiences now and again and members should not be afraid of voicing there problems if they feel they are not been resolved. I have total respect for the TLO and the job the commitee do, but members should be aware of possible problems with traders as it is the members who have to decide wether to spend there hard earned cash!

I would be anoyed and P!ssed off if i spend money with a trader only to have something go wrong and then find out the same thing has happened to many members prieviously that I had not known about!

the club should protect all its members and not just the elite few in the know!!! :nelson:

:smw: anyway the suns out so lets get down the coast in the Zs

fook that get the lagers out, ive started again lol

fook that get the lagers out, ive started again lol

lagers?i thought you were into VandR's now?

Man well all this just goes to show what can happen when someone ends up totally frustrated and almost desperate about resolving a problem

My 2p worth being a trader.

Feedback- Traders should encourage this within their own section themselves, it's beneficial to both sides because we need to know what areas if any we fail, so no need for the committee to create this.

Problem solving- IMO should be in stages.

Stage 1 try to resolve your problem with the trader concerned, at the end of the day we are only human, have lives outside the club and mistakes can happen, PUT 7 DAYS AS THE LIMIT TO BE RESOLVED if that didn't work

Stage 2, contact Mac and or Shunter, explain the problem calmly as possible and ask for their help as Liason officers, again a 7 days limit IMO is reasonable, if still unhappy with the end result

Stage 3, Both parties present to Mac all their evidence relating to the problem, PM's, emails, paperwork etc etc.

Mac then with the aid of the committee and ANY other outside source he sees fit, investigates to the best of his ability and with what has been given to him, again within 7 days he makes a ruling. If in favour of the customer the trader is asked to abide by it, if he fails he risks the possiblity of not being asked back as a trader on our forum as he/she clearly is not looking after the members, if the finding is in favour of the trader, the customer can then use what ever sources he wishes to pursue his claim outside the forum as the committe have done all they can, that includes posts on the forum as it has been investigated and a conclusion found, albeit not a happy 1, as long as facts are typed, the forum have no concern..

Now all this means things are dealt with correctly and certainly within a timely manner. This is something I think the committe should introduce, though in short it partly already is and rarely would i expect to see things going beyond stage 2, if at all.

Now unless am mistaken, Paul is already past these stages (being 9 months) and hence should say what he likes in a thread, close it before anyone interupts and wait for ryan to respond to it, imo of course ;)

Matty, you ole dog you, good to see yer around :D and yep yer right if things were done back then as they are now, I think a different end result would have been found regards Jeff, on the plus side though, as you say he doesn't need the club as he has become more succesful, so in short it is we as a club who have lost out by not having his knoweldge and input on forum.

Oh and before someone pipes up as to why he is no longer here, yes I do know, the facts!

cheers

Right, my turn!!

I have only been made aware of this yesterday, Sunday 28th May, I responded to Paul telling him I would contact Ryan tomorrow, and get back to Paul as soon as I can, which will be after 8pm, Tuesday eve, 30th May.

SO YOU WONT BE HOLDING YOUR BREATH FOR LONG!!!!

I personally am starting to get fooked off with all you keyboard ninjas, sat behind your screens, thinking you are above evrybody else, if you have anything to say to me, have the decentcy to say it to me via PM, or better still, i'll see you at JAE, you can say it to my face!!

All the committee do thier respective job on this forum in thier own free time, and I for one, am starting to get fed up being told how useless the committee is, or how we are wrong, etc, etc.

Remember, there are alot of other forums that dont have TLO's for you to come to, and Mac and my self have been approached by other car club forum members asking who thier TLO Officers are!!

Timmy, please, if you got something to say, pm me.

I did respectively asked the membership not to keep posting thier personal opinions regarding Paul and Ryans matter till I understood the situation myself, obviousley that was a waste of time, or respect is not understood here??

While i agree that this Paul/Ryan issue should now be given a chance for Ryan/Ztech reply and sort but and dont take this personally but just because people give their own time doesnt mean to say things are right!! but i do agree if people have issues with the way things are run etc then they need to stand up at the annual meeting and speak!!!!! which unfortunatly most people tend to either go with the flow and moan or just hide behind the keyboards

I think a sticky post should be put in either the members section or the general section to remind people of the annual meeting at JAE so it gives people time to get any concerns together and voice them in the correct mannor :)

Mike

Timmy, please, if you got something to say, pm me.

Will do mate!

But can I just say one thing? If I PM you then how does everyone else on the forum get to see what I have to say? ;)

agree with mike 100% there are bigger issues that involve the whole forum and the cliques and alliances that have formed on here are becoming far too obvious , its becoming a club within a club but only for the favoured or chosen few and imho it stinks and its far from the reason i joined this forum nearly 4 years ago when if you posted you got a resonse and not ignored like is mainly the case now.....unless you are in the " group"

Steve..

Will do mate!

But can I just say one thing? If I PM you then how does everyone else on the forum get to see what I have to say? ;)

You do seem to have alot to say!!

Once again i'll say, I respectfully asked the membership to drop the matter between Paul and Ryan, but you had to drag it up, why? Is it a game to you?

Mac has posted many times before that he would prefer no more 'mud slinging', whether that be from any trader, or the membership.

But you, as long a member as you may be, seem to want to keep reverting back to how the club was in its infancy, how this was done, how that was done, sorry mate, times change.

AUP, being lame?? Sorry, if you dont like it, you know where the door is. The AUP applies to all, even you.

A joke??!!

Sorry mate, its no joke, simple as that.
