i have the buyers guide but is thier any checks that can be done for checking compression of the car without taking to a gararge or tell tail signs etc....thanks :mac1:

yes you need a compression tester kit,you firstly need to get car up to temp,then remove all s.plugs,coil packs etc,remove fuel pump fuse,make sure you have a good strong battery,then screwing the compression tester in each cylinder where the plug goes and turning the car over

 

write down the results of each cylinder from 1-6 a healthy figure for a TT will be in the region of 140-150 psi per cyl any less and its indicating wear
