Popped to swtyres(.co.uk) today, and unexpectantly came home with a set of 19" wheels & Tyres.

 

19x8.5 - 245/35/19

19x9.5 - 265/30/19

 

Fitted with the new Falken 452's, which seem to live up to the hype, pretty impressive.

 

2" Dish on the front, and a 4" dish on the rear.

 

to be honest, Im having 2nd thoughts about them :rolleyes: ....and they may be up for sale shortly :(

Jury's out for me Dave. Liked them at first glance, but something doesn't look right. Look odd for some reason. Sorry, that's my honest opinion. Nice deep dish though, and guess in the flesh looks superb ;)

Looks great Dave, I have always liked 5 spokes.

hmmmm,now you know i like them :D very nice bud,5spoke deep dish,thats the only thing that looks good on a 300

I like the actual wheels, just not sure about the Overall look with the them fitted on my zed.

 

Suprised by how good the ride is with 19's though, no real noticable difference and Im very conscious of ride quality.

 

Actually, no ! Nothing wrong with the wheels per se, but I don't think they suit the rest of the car that well. They're chunky rather than curvy unlike the rest of the car. Some ther 19" 5 spoke wheels seem more elegant.

 

Also, for some reason they don't seem to look as large as other 19" wheels, maybe it's some optical illusion, or perhaps the angle of the photo or something.

Very true with new style rims, most people swear mine are 19's but due to the design and the spokes going right from centre to the lip they do look much bigger.

 

They are nice David but i know what your saying. Wouldnt the place let you try them next to the car 1st ?

i hope you don't mind dave but ive added some skirts to you pic. i think it flows better and compliments the wheels.imo of course.

Thanks. Now Im not sure wether to put em up for sale and cut my losses by selling them a bit cheaper than I got them :(...or to wait till I go Wide Arch, skirts, bumpers and then see if they work with the design.

 

Love the dish, just not sure about the chunky spokes.

 

They dont look 19" to me either, they are big, but just dont shout 19" on the car.

Wheels look superb, but it doesn't look right because your car is stock. Nice body kit is what you need for those giants mate ;)

The wheels look great but IMHO I agree with AndyP. If I were you, I would enjoy them for now and worry about replacing them at a later stage.

They do look nice mate, but now you have the turning circle of the QE II, I always wanted 19's until Johnny at GPS told me it was the worst thing he'd ever done to his Z. Banging on the wheel arches all the time and negat turning circle, he had the Blitz 19's IIRC.

 

What's yours like with them bad MO FO's on?

If they was ever a set of wheels that suits a zed you have just found 'em cos they look fantastic. :bow:

Not noticed arch rubbing yet, will check that tomorrow. Was worried about ride quality, but I did'nt need to be, its had no detremental affect and the missus had no complaints about ride either :)

 

Slightly more tyre noise at speed, but not really noticable.

 

No tramlining, dispite the 245 wide fronts and no more understeer when entering a bend/roundabout fast which was a problem with my old Nangkang fronts, and so far they seem to grip just as well as my Goodyear F1's

old legrath has always complained about crotch rub,he thought getting married would result in less chaffing how wrong was he PMSL

Agreed side skirts work well, but don't think you should go Veilside (sorry Gaz). I think you need chunkier front/rear bumper to go with them as well. Don't you just love other people spending your money for you? ;)
