Yeah one foreign team beat another foreign team, don't know what all the fuss is about!

is this the whole we should have beaten johnny foreigner thread?

I can never see why people suddenly switch sides when the team they hate starts playing a team from another country.

England yes, i'll quite happily support them :)

I'm not biased mate, not impartial either! ;)

Couldn't give a toss who beat who it's all complete naff. LOL

FA cup final - wanted a good game - got one.

Euro cup final - Wanted a good game - Ref ruined it. I really didnt care who won. I have nothing against arsenal but they're not my team so I don't support them.

So my selection would be:

Don't care as I dont support either team.

No, I wanted Arsenal to win, but they weren't "robbed"!

Sorry matey wasn't commenting on you :D

No problem mate, I'm not biased or impartial! LMFAO :D

Thats Birds for ya! :D

Yeah bud and worst of all is they're all returning from migration from the Southern Hemisphere! God we're going to be inundated with birds

Jens Lehmann ruined the game. Yes, the ref should have played advantage, but Lehmann deliberately brought down Eto'o to prevent him from scoring and can't complain that he was sent off. :headvswal

In a word

YES

now I can get my bloody own back

Gonna love every second of ripping the p1ss out of all the gooners at work today!

Well happy Barcelona won. Has nothing to do with Country, it is a CLUB game ffs!

World cup I'll be cheering on the Arsenal players in the England kit cos thats a different matter all together!

As I tottenham fan I can quite happily say that what happened last night couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of people.

Well Done Barca.

they tried their best though i didn't think Barca played particularly well, it would have been better for Leamann to get a yellow and let the goal stand, the ref himself agreed later in an interview he could have taken more time over the decision and given him a yellow instead, Pires understandably was really pissed off having to come off.

I thought the gunners played quite well, though near the end they were knackered as having 10 men started to really show then.

Barcelona got their win deservedly though their was a lot of nasty tackles from Barca that were ignored. The ref wasn't the best for such a high profile game, I'm not blaming him for Arsenal's defeat, not at all, just he wasn't up to the job that's all for both teams.

I thought the teams played a good game, and in parts it was very exciting, Sol's goal was rather special and great for him too.

I didn't do the poll as I don't agree with any of the statements.

Arsenal played their hearts out and I'm very proud they got to the Champions League final and are in the Champions League next year too.

Scotty, i'm a spurs fan too mate, but now that they didn't win doesn't it make coming 5th that little bit harder to take, knowing we would have definitely got champions league football if we had beaten West Ham!!

I know I know we cant all dwell on what ifs....

No I would have like em to win. I don't support them but they are a British league team and if Arsenal had won then that would mean a UK club had won 2 years running and that the sort of thing that attracts the better players to either stay or come here instead of Spain and Italy. It would have been good for the country and the league IMO.

OH yep and I do like to see something from my home land doing better than Johnny Foriegner. I generally enjoy winning and I'm certainly not ashamed of it either. I would even say that people who say its not about winning and wanting to be the best etc Usually say it because they don't win often or are too scared to have a serious try.

spot on

and if henry decides to leave that can only be a sad loss for the premiership

it also helps seeding for other euro' trophies the better our sides do

i pay for the prem' plus every year but arsenal are one of the few sides i would pay to watch, up until when the keeper got sent off i was impressed with Arsenal

attracting more players from abroad will harm english football as less and less home grown players will come through, look at arsenal playing with no english players in some of there games and chelsea aren't far behind. look at the england squad now that rooney might not make it theres not many players who can take his place IMO

not really true m8, as the clubs who can't afford "imports" are still going to have to produce home grown players to exist

you mention rooney, he came through evertons youth and then moved

joe cole via west ham, gerrard and carragher via liverpool, walcott LOOKS like he is going to be a good 'un etc etc

i know liverpool have spent multi millions on their academy, utd have one, chelsea recently built a new one, but at the end of the day if the players arn't there?

world class strikers have always been a bit thin on the ground, i don't think it's the fault of players from abroad, more that managers are having to find players quick to keep up with others, doesn't matter where a player is from if he is good enough he will succeed, another sign of the times that kids will be happier sitting in front of computers than out playing football which to me is a bigger explanation for the lack of talent coming through:(

i just think managers rather go abroad than get home grown players (big clubs anyway) this wasnt like this not that long ago take united  they showed what home grown talent can do beckham, giggs, scholes, butt, neville bros (and cantana :x: ) but they have or will come to an end as well as others and there is not that many coming through to take there place

a few flaws there lol

beckham came from someone elses youth

giggs is welsh, cantona french and via leeds

i understand what your saying, but i think managers have to play the ££s game and english players are to expensive, so they have to look elswhere

a classic example of the talent drying up is the amount of scots that used to ALWAYS be in good sides and they have stopped as well:(
