the only way to get money back would be to strip it for parts, but it's a hassle if you don't have the space.

I would say if your gut says stick with it then do so, oh and take a pic of the leaking part we might be able to tell you what it is.

this is the parts but the picture has turned out quite blured, this is the part taken from my old engine before chunk took it all, if chunk reads this he may be able to put a better picture of it up

Strip your car and get a low milage zed imported from Japan with a 6 month warranty with the importer.

Hmm i wonder how much it would cost to replace every single part in a zed with new parts apart from the body - £15K?

is that where you think your oil is leaking from?

I had exaclty same problem from that part, small crack in the housing and the pressure was blowing the oil through at a tremondous rate.

thing is, when you strip it to get at it (involves a head off :headvswal ) you cant easily see the crack/s

had 2 of them blighters split on me since Z ownship so must of been a bad casting batch at somepoint in time.

Once i had a Ford Orion that had a cracked sump after i tried to take it off roading in Wales! Regular silicon sealent from a DIY shop sorted the leak until the car went to the scrap yard a year later.

Sp cover the area in that for a while just to slow the process down

Have you looked in the workshop manual Bird? I recognise the part but can't remember. You should be able to find it easy enough as its quite obvious.

i think 2 of the bolts are near on impossible to get at,also the gearbox to engine bracket gets in the way slightly,im not sure but have a look at maybe dropping the crossmember, but i still think you will struggle,so engine out

I thought it was the oil tree but i didnt like to call it that incase i just imagined that stupid name for it

As for removing it in the car :headvswal would be the answer i think

This may sound stopid but swap the one in your hand with the cracked one on your car. :smw:

well the engine is covered under warranty so i need the exact name of the part and if possible a part number, can anyone help with this?

Also i couldn't do that as i sold the old engine and although the old one was knackered i couldn't be dishonest about things and put another knackered part on that one, i know there is a few that might do that but not me,

Also as previously said we can not get the part out because the engine is still in the car
