Being a partial insomniac I almost always find myself awake at stupid o'clock in the morning even when I know I have to get up early (a bit of a rare occurrence in itself as those that know me will testify to!). Tonight's no exception: despite knowing I should be in bed to get an early start to drive over to Kidderminster and pull an engine I can't get my head down for love nor money so decided to take myself down the workshop (handily at the bottom of the garden) and plug away at the bumper I decided to custom build from scratch a couple of months ago (I also have no sense of reality which helps when taking on hairbrained projects :D).

Managed to finish off a bit that's been bugging me for a while but all the time I had the nagging feeling that I must be wrong in the head for digging out the fibreglass and plastics after 12pm! Anyone else out there daft enough to work on their car at stupid times of the night? I think I need therapy...ok, more therapy.

About three weeks ago I got home late from work to find that my Datascan kit had arrived, I loaded the software then couldn’t resist the temptation to have a play, the problem was It was almost midnight and I was having trouble finding the diagnostic connector, to make matters worse, whilst my head was in and around the pedals, my arm kept hitting the seat forward button almost trapping me on two occasions. Had visions of the postie finding me trapped in the morning.

I posted on the forum and luckily others still up suggested that it might be behind the panel, so eventually I found it, but with a straight through exhaust and now gone midnight it was too late to test (wouldn’t be popular with the neighbours)

I have the same problem. The brain won't turn off for love nor money. All my best ideas come late at night/early morning I either have to act on them straight away or at least write out an action plan. It can be a blessing at times however it can also be a complete nightmare especially when your havn't been able to turn off and sleep properly for days.

got any pictures of the motor install?
