Hiya All

 

Spoke to the company doing my engine refit this morning, they hope to put in the new engine tomorrow and road test it on thursday, it's taken a little longer than expected as thev'e replaced my knock sensor and some wiring and some pipe work, so with any luck should have me Z back for early next week.

We finally solved the mystery of why it went tits up, a bolt from the tensioner had sheared causing the cambelt to snap, this in turn fooked up the engine big style

 

Never mind it's only money.

BTW is anybody else going to use API, simon from there said he's had some enquiries from people from the forum??

Cambelt snapped! Bugger, that will do it everytime matey. Good to see that it's soon to be fixed and back on the road though.

 

Quite a few of the more Tech guys did think it was the cambelt aswell.

Also Timmy i believe it was the tensioner bolt that snapped which in turn killed the Cam belt - This happened to one of the guyz on tt.net ( think it was Fred aka Good2Zya) - I tell ya this scares the shit outta me as he used a brand new bolt on the tensioner and it still failed - I would like to see what the actual cause of the bolt failure was ?!? - Im gonna use Cryo treated Titanium for my tensioner bolts

I got away lightly last month the tensioner sheared but the cambelt didnt snap. £00's not £000's.
