Why when i set up a local multiplayer game on our network only me and my brother are playing and there are no computer players???

 

we are both up to date and running the same serial number.

 

I remember playing a long time ago Battlefield 1942 on a network and there were lots of computer players, how come i don't haver any?

 

Also what is the Euro patch all about?

Isnt there an option to set the number of 'bots' (computer controlled payers)?

There are no options for bots (computer players) in the game. I think I have seen a modified version of the server software that will give you bots but i never tried it.

 

You only get computer players when you play single player.

i think its a mod to add bots, ill find out for you

 

as for Euro Force pack m8 dont bother, u get no unlocks and i dont rate it at all

 

get special forces m8, u get a load of new unlocks with it :)

There is a new patch coming out that cures this.

Squad members can now send a request up the chain of command for a vehicle to be dropped at their location.

 

BUG FIXES & GAME PLAY TWEAKS

 

- Prevented ban list from being cleared in the event of a server crash.

 

- Fixed issue with players not properly ranking up on servers where they continuously play.

 

- Fixed bug where friendly vehicles show up as valid targets

 

- Friendly Vehicle lock: Lock-on weapons do not lock on to friendly vehicles. The box with an X through it will still appear, but a lock tone will not sound and then if fired, the missile will not track the friendly target.

 

Keep in mind this is only a part of what 1.3 will include. Our live team is working diligently to provide the best update possible in preparation for the release of the Armored Fury booster pack!

That's a real shame they ditched computer players in multiplayer just fighting 1 person in a huge level does rather suck.

 

Patch 1.3 sounds good though but that probably wont be out for a while yet.

 

Mark as for the mod do you know where i may be able to get this from? i'll look on file planet for it now.

EA ant got a clue, thats sumthing u NEED to do in a clan game

i wouldnt mind if this game didnt have such huge lag....trying to find a server that gives me a low ping takes moons and i wouldnt mind but every other game i play with my connection at 20meg runs like a dream..........shame really as it looks to be a half decent game but for me it was money down the drain as the single player side of it is shite

try using the Multiplay EA servers m8

 

they are very good and hardly ANY lag at all ;)

what patches/mods are you running or can recommend?

 

or is it best to stay standered with official patches such as Special forces pack?

 

eg. when i had Battlefield 1942 i had a mod call Desert Combat which was sweet, anything worth a try on Battlefield 2 or just stay with the norm.

 

I'm new to Battlefield 2 so any tips or recommendations are much appreciated.

2 of the 3 Euro Force maps are ok - the Wall of China one is shite.

Warlord map is good on Special Forces, I prefer Mashtuur or Sharqi in the original game though.

absolutely BRILLANT maps

 

Dragon Valley is also VERY VERY good map, me and clan m8 were in a AA tank thing and i was in a APC, were ripping every1 a new one. choppers could not get near us
