well just put a deposit down on my Zed, pick it up on Monday.

 

1993 UK TT turbo Manual Series 3 with 70,000 on the clock, FSH, standard apart from rear spoiler and a set of Azev alloys and powerflow zorst system.

 

Had it on really long test drive (about an hour) seemed a little slow below 3000 but boosted all the way to the line when it came on and pulled like a champion. It Also seemed to running a little rich, so im thinking maybe plugs? or lasy o2 sensors?? Dirty Airfilter???

 

Also, was a little tappety on start up and was told it had been running 5-40 semi synth all its life?? take it its time to go to 5-50 Pro S????

 

anyways just gotta count the days down :p

Safety mode/boost will make it feel dead below 3k, becuase of the retarded timing. Do an ECU check to be sure.

tapping could just be sticky lifters? does it go away after a while? id only be worried if it taps as it goes over 3000 revs for a second then stops, thats a tell tale sign of big end shells

thats brilliant sounds like a solid car, just what im looking for in a month or so.

 

what colour? how much you get it for and where from.

no its defo lifters, disapears above 1800 rpm's, also the oil seems a little light as i thought at least 5-50 Fully synth was Recommended. Defo not in safety boost mode as the gauge is going all the way to right. Though the last one i drove had a jwt fitted and full Decat (this one still has cats) so that all i can compare it with.

finished in Black with Full leather, the car is a clarion Demo car but im having the ICE removed. Paid 4.5K for it, but it is mint, and all i could find were 89-90 Jap imports.

Dunno if i paid over the odds, but ive been to see to much shit over the last dew months - this one felt right.
