While out Zed spotting I saw a nice yellow one spoke to the guy and he was planning on selling wanted 4k. He was more than willing to let me see everything. Didn't speak much English but was trying his hardest to answer all my eager questions. As it was dark (I've just got back from viewing it.) He said come back in light. I realized it was Auto not Manual, but was still considering a seconded viewing when he said suddenly said "sorry, English bad, jap import," to a previously asked question.

I don't think I'll go back after all now, not quite what I want maybe I'm just too picky. What with it being an import, an auto and being Yellow. But it was nice, very nice oh and it sounds preeeeefect, because I've seen and heard it on the road a few times now.

Should I go back

Oh I'm so confused. Notice I've even put up a post about how much to change it ever to manual.

It's great inside as well, beautiful black leather.

Also will it still be available by July cos if hes serious I think it will go before I have a real chance.

To be honest, that's quite specific.

You might wait two or three years to find one exactly like that which is a decent, straight car too.

Why not consider compromising on a few points - maybe ones you can change with your own mods?

And SGT C's car is luuurvvvly....

If I had the cash, I would have had his arm off by now...LOL

Am I right in asuming your a lady?

OK a couple of points here you realy need to think about. HARD

Your looking for a top end car. Ok expect to play 10K

You want 400bhp (that covers the mods). For one thats not fooked in anyway, expect to pay 15K because they are at a premium and why would anyone want to sell something that good?

Manual UK LWB, liek rocking horse sheet.

So lets recap.

Your looking for a strait, sound, highly modified rare as rocking horse sheet UK manual TT and your probably wanting to pay no where near teh asking price.

OK, now lets be a tad more practical in your wish list.

400bhp 2+2 manual in great condition, there are a few, not many and mainly all imports.

Slightly modded 2+2 Auto, in UK or Import, tuns and tuns of them.

Un-modded UK Auto 2+2, flipping loads of them.

Cost of converting a Auto to a Manual. £1000 approx

I am not flaming, I just dont think what your asking for is realistic, and if your not willing to compromise you in trouble from the start.

That said, there are loads of lemmons, they are getting old, but there are some good ones up for sale from club members. 1 of them is awsome and maybe what your after, but I warn you it isnt cheap

Why would you want to buy an auto car and then change it to manual? Buy a manual there's loads in the for sale section.

If you have 10k, then buy SGT C's car....duh!! simple...

why no imports, sounds like a silly requirement to me..

I agree whole-heartedly.

a recent import will come with much fewer problems than a UK car, based mainly on mileage and rust.

What for? to save a couple of quid on the insurance?

Just my opinion...

I said WISH LIST :D

And after all is said and done I am a realist.

Still some of the points on the wish list have to be there. I know i'll have to give in on some wishes but then again I can modify the car once I've got it. A car with some of my wishes will be great the rest I can sort out at a later date.

I agree whole-heartedly.

It's down to simple taste. I love driving and one of the pleausers of driving IMHO is handling that gear stick and using the clutch pedal especially when your at the lights alongside some silly little boyracer who cann't control his hands and feet and I leave them standing because I know how and when to change gear. It's gets the blood pumping and I love it. Okay I admit it i'm a boyracer or should that be girlracer with attuide.

But in an auto, you would be off the line quicker!!!!!!

And what is attuide???

It's great you know what you want - so many people have no idea so you're well ahead of them already.

The problem is there's quite a few bad cars out there so it's advisable to be flexible and get a good car even if it's not the perfect spec.

I agree with you about the manual gearbox and I think you should hold out for the right car,

But I would like to ask why do you want a UK car so much?

Mike...

whats that got to do with whether its an import though?

sorry Clarkey I replyed on the wrong bit. Excuse my error. Didn't intend to confuss you guys. :nelson:

Thanks mate, you're right, you have to have some idea of what you want and then work from there.

And for all you Import fans here's my reasoning. 6 years ago when I first fall in love with Zed's I went looking and all the imports I saw were Autos & there was the insurance issuse as well. I became very disappionted as previously stated I love manuals so it somewhat clouds my view of inports.

I would consider an import if it included some of my other items from my 'Wish List'. But having said that it would have to be something very special indeed.

I guess it all come down to personal tasted in the end.

I think you have the wrong idea about imports ? They come in Auto and Manual, just like UK spec.

Mine is a Import Manual LWB TT.

Most 300zx's are LWB Imports, and becuase of this there are a lot more Import manuals than there are UK manuals!

Insurance is the only reason to consider a UK over a Import, and thats only if your very young, as for anyone over 25 the price difference is neglidgable, or non existent.

The Import advantages are usually lower mileage and better condition. The two most import points IMO.

No reason to limit yourself to UK or Import.

Guys you know what I want and its got to be manual TT if nothing else. So having said that I'll proberly end up with......

Jap import manual TT

Lime Green in colour

Stock

and cloth seats :D :D

And then spend the next couple of years overhauling it.
