After reading Petrolheads post about using chrome spray in his headlight shrouds I thought I would give it a go. Very pleased I am too. Not had chance to use them in the dark yet though.

Worried me to begin with, should I, should'nt I. Thought what the hell, if it bubbles I'll get some mirror film and do them again.

The paint is just called Chrome Spray Paint and is made by Silver Hook Chemicals. Got it from a local auto shop, was'nt looking for it, was getting some Seek n Seal when saw it and thought why not, lol.

No real prep work, just rubbed shroud down with 1200 wet n dry first, making sure not to touch with fingers after. Then did 4 coats rubbing down between the first 2. Baked in a very low oven between coats and allowed to cool ( bout' 30 mins ) before the next coat.

Allowed to cure overnight before putting back together and doing the other one.

Took my time and did'nt rush.

Yes mate. Did'nt take the bumper off. Was a tight squeeze getting to the rear inside 2 bolts though. First one took about 2 hours. Had to remove the air filter and 'T' pipe though. Grazed knuckles and swearing, lol.

Its the final bit of "BLING" in my engine bay as I have now run out of ideas (and room)LOL. ;)

I used the chrome paint from B&Q, the one with the chrome lid.

So far so good. No bubbling or flaking.

PMSL, can't believe you also forgot to clean the projector bulbs, what a couple of tw@ts we are, :D

Will be doing another set soon, for my blue car. Everyone seems to like the result when they see it in the flesh.

Oh, and well done by the way, lets see them on the car :D
