Trashed the Bios trying to flash upgrade it. Any of you IT types know where i can source a SLOT A MB for an ATHLON 700 CPU?

    Thanks guys. Yes, Slot A 2 yr old technology, I backed the wrong one then. They are now like the proverbial rocking horse poo. CPU plus heatsink and fan is the size of half a brick. Just checked a couple of sites, it has dual bios so it may me recoverable.

    Slot A is the early ones.

    Most mother boards have a Bios back up. A standard Bios seporate in case such things happen like this. The Bios is so basic it doenst have AGP support and I think some dont have PCI support and that is why nothing shows on the bios.

    What make is your mother board?

    I know Gigabyte do it and I personally know that FIC do cos I have done the same as you.

    When you turn on your computer is it making all the normal sounds, just not showing anything or loading windows. Ie does it do the HDD check? Or can you just hear the fan and nothing else!

    Its a GA7IXE and will take your brick of a Athlon.
