I never realised how BIG they are. I don't know if the 300 will fit down my street.

But I brought it anyway! A Silver NA Manual 2+2

Woohoo. I'll probably crash it on the way home (got to drive it out of b-ham city centre).

The one I got had 2 big bore exhausts on it and I swear I turned on the engine it sounded like some Chevy V8 or something. Just what I need to get revenge on the boy racers revving their corsas by my house.

Thanks for the help guys and at last I'm a 'proper' 300zx forum guy.

Al

ps (unfortunately I got to wait 10 days for it as its an unregistered import and needs stuff doing including security).

Congrats :D

10 days....like counting down to xmas ;)

Did you test drive the TT and NA ?

p.s which Import centre in Birmingham did you buy from. I looked at a couple there, but there are also some dodgy import garages there.

Premier cars. They're on auto trader. Cost 3500, 50k mileage totally standard apart from exhausts. They had 4 z's in stock.

Unfortunately I took a gamble as it hadn't been registered yet so I didn't get to test drive it. I'm just worried it will be too big. How are they to park etc?

:confused:Im sure it does'nt need to be registered for test drive, is that what that told you? They use Trade plates. I've driven plenty of fresh unregistered imports from Traders before!

Thats quite a risk, buying without driving. Potentially so many problems, fingers crossed!

You wont have any problems parking, you just need to get used to it :) They are wider than typical saloon, but not as long (or high ofcourse).

They should have put trade plates on so you can drive it, I would go back and ask to take it out mate, also try doing a search on here for premier cars.

Looks nice. Fingers crossed all is well.

Is that place opposite a rough car park and is the old ice rink to its right when you have you back to it the dealers?

I think they have changed trading name. Are they Asian guys? I've got a feeling they were World Of Cars or something similar.

you didnt test drive it. christ I bet they think xmas has come early.

Hope yu dont get burned mate

Yeah asian guys. They'e on the corner and yeah there's a car park opposite them. They're close to the custard factory and digbeth coach station.

If it was world of cars then definately go back and take it out to make sure it actually moves, and for more than a mile as well.

Is there a multistorey carpark on the right and a pub on the corner opposite far left of rough carpark?

If it is the one i'm thinking of they are a bit dubious and have been mentioned on here before. They tried to sell me one with a fooked gearbox and offered me money off AND a gearbox from another car, just be wary.

Don't think there was a multi storey car park. Hmm I'm worried now.

I might be in the wrong place completely.

Were all the cars inside or was there outside display?

No point worrying about it mate, go back and see if anyone on here is local and could go with you, just go over it as best you can and take it for a long drive, yes they have a bad reputation, doesnt mean every car they sell is a pup, but you need to be careful, this early in the deal you can get your money back if anything is wrong.

All cars were inside. It's going to have full mot, tax, service and 6 month warranty though so hopefully it'll be ok.

There always on the corner, thats why the romans built straight roads ,so they could'nt open corner shops.Hope yer dont get stung Fella.

as long as you happy then mate, heres to a long a prosperous life of Zed ownership for you. She does look nice from the picture. :)

But buying with driving is not wise.

I test drove 8 zed's before purchasing mine...it was the test drive that told me wether to buy or not, and was the reason I bought the one I have over the others.

They should of put Trade plates on it to let you test drive, have to wonder why they did'nt.

Dont rely on a Mot, service and warranty to ensure the car is decent. They can quite easily not be worth the paper they are writted on.

Sorry, all sounds very negative, but we dont want you to end up with a dog (and there are a lot out there). Ofcourse it may be fine, but best to be sure!

If you read the thread yampie has put up then you might want to go back for a good long look at it, just dont want to see you get stung mate, it also mentions the warranty, dont think I have ever seen a used car warranty that was worth the paper its written on.

He did say the car had not been driven for a while and the battery was dead and it would be replaced. When I started it he used one of those portable battery things.

Alfo

Test driving a car tells you allsorts of things, not just on a Z but any car you buy.

Without a test drive how can you tell if the cv joints are worn, wether the brakes work properly, does it stop in a straight line or veer to one side...all these things and more.

Go back and explain that you need to drive the vehicle before full commitment to buy.

same as eveyone else has said really, cant stress enough make sure u test drive it, they really do have a dodgy rep, but as said doesnt neccesary mean its a crap zed, but definetly worth checking, if they get arsey then get someone involved just dont be bullied into buying it. good luck mate
